These are the rods that came out of my built EJ22T. They are Eagle rods that have been balanced with my rotating assembly. If miles matter to you, they have approx 18,000miles. No spun bearing at all but wear and tear from hard use. You can have these at a low price of $300!!! I can also install these for you if you decide to use them at a lower price of $260.

Saves money for people who want balanced internals!

I will even sell them at $260 if they have you assemble their engine for them with these rods!

The process of balancing internal components is specific to those parts. So you combine the weight of the piston/rings/wrist pin/clips/ rod/bearings. Then you pick the lowest total and match the rest to the lightest set by grinding off material off of each rod to get the combined weight the same. You then make a bob weight to simulate the above components and bolt it to the rod journals of the crank. You spin the crank on a balancer to find out where weight needs to be removed. Remove the weight by drilling, retest. repeat till balanced. Now all your parts are balanced. You remove parts from the above process and they are no longer balanced. They can actually be worse because now they are all not even close to being the same weight. When set with other stock parts this could be an issue with greater imbalance than another off the shelf rod.

A quick search shows these rods can be had for 300.00 new, why are yours special?

If you guys are curious about the"balanced" part, the rods are weight balanced to weigh close to each other by themselves. The crank itself was balanced with the crank pulley, crank sprocket, flywheel and pressure plate attached. The pistons themselves where weight matched.

WE don't have V8 engines that require weights and such and balancing shafts etc.

And you liked that post too. I see.

You don't balance individual parts. You balance the rotating assembly as a whole. Weight matched rods don't mean squat if the wrist pins weigh different amounts. What about the rod bolts, were they installed when they were weight balanced? If the rod bolts and wrist pins and retainer clips are different, then balance is off.
