    Darrick,

I did the home work for you... I call up a buddy who deals with used computer equipment and I gave him the spec of your system. He said AVERAGE price something SIMILAR to your model are going for $545. You can sell it higher or lower, that would depend on you.

I got the info from Leng Ly over at Ly Industry. Good luck with the sale.

I have one almost exactly like it (Thinkpad 600). That sounds about right for price, their good computers!

I really don't need to get the full price out of it since I originally bought it used and have definitely got good use out of it. These really are great laptops, and if I can ever afford an IBM (new) I will definitely buy another one. These things are workhorses.

I think I will set the price at $300 cause I just don't need it anymore and I would like someone else to get some good use out of it. I may be interested in some trades, but I am not sure yet of what. If you want to trade for it, let me know what you have and we'll see if we can work something out. I will also update the original post.

I never got an email from jprice's friend, so it is still ready to go. The OS has been freshly installed, but I have not tested the battery yet.

I have some assorted computer parts that I may be parting with. I also have a set of Pirelli K4 gravel tires w/80% tread left that I could trade if you're interested.

Computer parts would be as follows:
PNY GF4 4400 with Thermaltake copper HSF and ramsinks
Lian Li PC-60 variant mid-tower case
Pair of Athlon MP 1900+ with Thermalright SK-7 copper heatsink and 80mm Sunon fan

Or cash. Whatever works. I need laptop to do Haltech tuning thus the battery life. Is there an available DC/car lighter adapter for this laptop? I also need it for bumming around the house with my wireless network :D

I don't really have any use for extra computer stuff right now. The tires kind of sparked my interest however. Do they come with rims, or is it just the tires? Would these tires fit my WRX, or are they made for another type of subaru? Where did you originally get the tires from? How much do you feel the tires are worth?

I don't have an adapter for the car, but I found one herehttp://shop.store.yahoo.com/batteryjuice/dkibmthastx2.html. Before I got my new laptop, that is exactly what I used it for, sitting around the house, or on my porch with the wireless internet. the battery says it is good for 3 hours when I take the AC off, but I'm sure it would only be good for 2.

Yes it is, for the time being. I have just been contacted by Jordan's buddy, and RallyNavvie has put up interest.

I do have another one that I would be willing to get rid of if there is demand for it. I didn't think that I wanted to sell it, but I have a deal with my wife that the more computer stuff I get rid of, the more parts I can buy for my car.

So I guess as of now I have two laptops with similar setups for sale. Dibs goes to RallyNavvie and Jordan's buddy. I'll keep everyone updated on what is happening with the laptops.

Tires are 15" and should fit on a set of steelies. They don't have wheels, thus why I'm thinking of getting rid of them. There are only a very few 15" wheels that clear my brakes and I think I'd rather spend the money on getting the car tuned. Besides, I think my lowered suspension would not tolerate the slightly larger profile of the gravel tires. As long as you have stock suspension (or similar height) and find a set of 15" wheels you'll be able to make use of these tires. I was thinking of asking $30 a tire for them, but I'd do $100 for all four in trade value for the laptop. They were used for maybe most of one rally. If you find one of them doesn't hold air for whatever reason I can get a replacement at the next rally. They should be great for rally-x or other gravel use, these Pirellis are **** expensive new.

Are both laptops the same? I'd be more interested in battery longetivity, though I can still find new batteries on eBay and stuff. I do want one though. Let me know and I'll get in contact with you this week. Where are you in the Cities?

I do have stock suspension and brakes, so I think they would work for me, it would just have to find a set of wheels to put them on. $100 sounds like a good deal.

The laptops are right on as far as similarities go. The batteries last about the same, but I will test.

Are you part of a rally team that you can get replacement tires that easy? I would kind of like to get into the rally stuff, but this is my daily driver, so I don't think I will get too heavy into it.

I am in Watertown which is about 20 miles almost straight west of Wayzata.

I used to be, now I just whore myself out if someone needs a codriver. I got these from Dennis Martin. I usually hang out with his crew at rallies since I recruited his crew a long time ago. I've known his crew chief since we were kids (one of the only guys I'll let work on my car) and his other crew hand is my brother. I can get replacements through him as long as he has some to get rid of. I can probably also hit up Ralph Kosmides for a good price on them since I crewed for him at OFPR a couple years back (the season he won Group N). We can certainly get you involved in rally, but be careful: it's VERY addictive :D

I can't imagine how addictive Rally is, it is addicting just driving my car to work in the morning. Some days I wish I lived further from work so that I would have more time to drive.

Do you go to the meets on Friday's with the rest of the guys? I would be interested in talking to you about the rally stuff, and you could get a look at the laptop then also.

I work weekday evenings so I don't get a chance to hit University very often. I'll have to see about leaving early Friday to get down there, but only if the weather cooperates. No use heading down there to talk if it's raining again.

From what I can see, friday is supposed to be sunshine all day, with a chance of rain on Saturday.

The wife already said I can go out and play on Friday night:cool:, but now I just need to know where it is exactly that everyone meets :I

I look forward to meeting everyone there, and I will bring the laptop with.

If you come across on 394 to 94 east head north on 280 and exit for University, making a right on Uni. A couple miles down is Porky's and just a block past that is Alden? The Firestone lot is on the left at that intersection. I think most people show up a little before 9pm.

I did get the day off work so I'll be down there with tires and checkbook at 8:30 or so :D

I bought the advertised one a couple weeks ago. I think he said he may have another similar one for sale. I really needed one to manage the Haltech.

Oh and Darrick let me know when you're free so that I can pick up that network dongle and the dock.

sorry about that guys. I have been really busy with my new job, and have only had a few minutes here and there to browse. I do still have the other laptop (I have emailed TabulaRasa about it), and I do have the network dongle and docking station. RallyNavvie, what does your schedule look like during the week. mine is pretty consistent 7:30 - 4:00. Let me know and we can line something up.

I work 3-10pm weekdays. However I was going to mention to you that if you found wheels for those tires there will be a rally-x in Corcoran on Sunday. I may try to make it out to that so we could try for that day if you're free. Even if you don't want to compete it's still fun to watch. Otherwise I should be in Minneapolis on Saturday as well.
