The time has come to switch up the computer setup a little. I need something slightly more portable. I do realize that selling built computers is somewhat difficult due to its small niche but I know a few people on here that would either be interested or know someone looking for your "better then average" computer so I thought I would toss it up to get the word out. For starters I am running 3 Asus VE205T monitors on a Chief KTP320B triple monitor horizontal stand. While budgeting this build out last year, I wanted to do a triple monitor setup but didn't realize how large three monitors gets when you stack them next to each other on a stand. For the most part this is close to the largest size monitors this stand can handle, but trust me... its a lot of screen real estate so I'm not sure what you would need much more for. On to the tower... This thing is big.. I have built many computers over the years and my number 1 problem I had with all of them up until this one was the inability to cable manage easily. After doing some research, I decided on a corsair Obsidian 800D full tower ATX case, pics to follow... Lots of room for expansion, cable management, any size video cards, liquid cooling, etc. Here are the rest of the specs of the comp: -MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 Motherboard -Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge. 3.10 GHz -8 GB Corsair XMS3 PC10666 DDR3 RAM -EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked -EVGA GeForce GTS 450 ( cant remember the exact extension of this model ) -1TB WD Black caviar hard drive -NEXT 750W power supply - Corsair H40 or H50 liquid cooling block and radiatior -Sony DVD drive -Front mounted LED lit fan speed controls This thing takes anything I throw at it as far as games, programs, Virtual machines, whatever. It has been a great comp, but like I said, I just need something more portable and I don't need to be excessive and own both. Its hard to price something like this because I realize this is along the lines of car parts when it comes to holding value but regardless its worth something. Let say 1,600 obo?(price dropped) and see what happens. Thanks for looking and enjoy. Also please note that if you would like to purchase just the tower, I would be willing to do that too as I have some interested buyers in just the monitor setup, in which case the tower would go for 1,400.00 OBO PM or email for questions or offers. MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 Motherboard - $160 Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.10 GHz - $190 8 GB Corsair XMS3 PC10666 DDR3 RAM - $75 EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked - $160 EVGA GeForce GTS 450 - $130 1TB WD Black caviar hard drive - $125 NZXT 750W power supply - $126 Corsair H40 - $65 Sony DVD drive - $25 ZALMAN MFC1-Combo 5 Channel Fan Controller - $45 Corsair Obsidian 800D - $250 Legit Copy of Windows 7 Ultimate - $290 Asus VE205T x 3 - $300 Chief KTP320B Triple Monitor Stand - $190 Grand Total = $2181 (includes estimate on your shipping costs @ $50) Not a bad deal. If any of you wanted to know what it would cost you to do the same. Good luck with sale
Hey thanks man!! that really does put it into perspective... scary... lol. I pulled up my old receipt just to check your prices. I bought everything new so there are a few things in your list that are a bit cheaper then what I paid... and shipping was 130 bucks but who's counting right ? Thanks for the bump. Lets find her a new good home.
This is way too high of a price for a USED computer, being that you can build a Intel i7 with a triple monitor setup from micro-center for at least $250 cheaper and not pay shipping. I personally built an i7 computer with blu-ray burner, 2 Nvidia graphics cards, 16gb ddr3, 2 DVD burners, H60 liquid cool, 5 HDD totaling 3.5TB, 3 Acer 23" LED monitors and enclosed by a cooler master haf932 case. for under 1700, NEW.
It’s ok if you think the price of my computer is too high, you don't have to buy it. For some users out there who may want/need an upgrade to a current machine but don’t have the time to pick out parts, put it together, install everything and cross their fingers that it will work, than this option might be worth the few extra bucks for them. I spared little expense when building this machine and a lot more goes into the build of the computer then just the sheer price and bottom line specs... I bet you could build a first gen eclipse to have 600 whp and smoke corvettes all day long and spend only a fraction of the price doing so, but you're still driving a first gen eclipse… (not saying that’s a bad thing, it’s just not my bag of potato chips) As stated above I had certain things in mind i.e. cable management etc. that I wanted out of this build which required me to spend a few extra dollars on a big case and other items that weren’t necessarily needed to make a screaming fast computer like you've built but I went that extra step, and now that I want to sell that machine, I'm going to price it how I see it. kudos to you for building a nice fast machine for less than me but next time please refrain from simply bashing my thread. Cheers
I would also like to note that just because you bought a core i7 ( first generation ) it doesnt automatically make your computer better... http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/373/Intel_Core_i5_i5-2400_vs_Intel_Core_i7_i7-860.html if you go to the performance tab, you will note that 13/19 tests conducted, my processor out performed the i7 with ease. Also throwing GOBS of ram at a machine doesn't automatically make it any better as well. There is variable speeds that ram will be clocked at depending on which RAM you went with which can make a difference and even at that, unless you are doing some major video editing or high end 3D modeling, what do you really need 16 GB of RAM for. Also Please note that in the above post, most of the items I have in this PC were priced out by JebusCrypes with CURRENT pricing bringing it to a total of roughly 2200.00 dollars. Normally I do not see it nessescary to respond to ignorant posts that are inconsiderately thrown at the OP, but when you try to bash someones sale by comparing it to your far superior machine, when in fact it may be a lesser machine, I feel it distasteful which in turn requires repremendation. Thanks but you might want to try harder next time. Cheers
There is a GTS250 which is in nowhere near the same performance category as the GTX460. The GTX460 is still faster than a GTX260 if that is the comparison. This is an enthusiasts machine built with top end components. High end case, quality power supply (very important), high end and fast memory. As a PC enthusiast myself this is a well built machine, with attention paid to the details. Cable management, air flow, strong power supply, aluminum case, etc. Great looking machine and good luck with the sale!
Also please note that if you would like to purchase just the tower, I would be willing to do that too as I have some interested buyers in just the monitor setup, in which case the tower would go for 1,400.00 OBO
Tell ya what... throw me an offer, we will set it up at your house and I will show you all the bells and whistles
Bump this up... someone has to want a new rig at a very discounted price. Shoot me an offer. Looking to buy the new setup soon.
DISCLAIMER******* you can build a faster PC than mine for cheaper then my asking price, congradulations. have fun with your POS computer. If you feel like buying a well built solid machine, let me know, throw me an offer. I willing to negotiate on price so that I dont "RIP ANYONE OFF" here, by no means is that my goal. BUMP
If I did not have a nice studio set up I would take this off your hands for you!!! This is a nice set up with quality compoanants. Someone needs to jump on this one.
Thank you. It really is an awesome computer, I just need to be more portable aka laptop purchase is in the works. Wish I had time to use this thing to its full potential. Please PM for offers or parts off the PC.

Are you asking if the stand can physically rotate the monitor 90 degrees or if the monitor is capable of displaying in a vertical orientation?
To my understanding that was always in the ability of the video card / driver handling the display... but I can look into it.
Looks like a stock feature of Win7. I'm able to rotate my monitor. How about the mount. Can it accommodate the three monitors turned 90 degrees?
I will try it out tonight and make sure it clears but I don't see why it wouldn't be able to. I can send you a picture of the setup as well with all of them turned.
has this been over clocked at all? if its in one of the above posts sorry, i thought i read them all pretty well. Also to get the picture across all 3 screens can be easily done with nvidias/amd's graphics utilities.
Here are some pics of the monitors turned 90 degrees. you could also raise the back hand another 2" to bring these up a little as well. ( yes I know I turned one of them the wrong way... its been a long day dealing with computers so I just left it that way
Turns out someone on craigslist was in need of computer parts. Bought everything except the case, hard drive, and monitor setup. BUMP
