Well, after trying to have Matt(bikerboy) install f/r sways, KB shifter bushings and steering rack bushings. We found out that the rear passenger side endlink wouldn't work with my car or my Perrin sway bar. It was resting on my latteral link and that could cause major problems. We don't really know what was the problem. Maybe the swaybar??? We had to throw the stock links back on and they work just fine. I dunno? So, before I return them for a refund, which Tom@Kartboy is happy to do. I was wondering if anyone local wanted them? $90 pretty much brand new, just a few dings from installation. Save $13, otherwise I have to pay a small restocking fee. So I figured I would see if I could save someone else some $$$.
i had this same problem with my perrin endlinks. try installing the endlinks with the car on the ground...this solved the problem for me. and sometimes you just have to jockey the sway bar around a bit to get it in the correct position.
Trust me, Matt had it on the ground. He even threw a few 2x4's under the tire to lift it up to give it some more give. I dunno. How big are the perrin end links compaired to the OEM's? I know the KB's are quite a bit shorter than the OEM a good inch to 2 inches.
oh wow...2 inches shorter eh? i wonder why they would make them like that. mine are around the sound same size, give or take .5 inch
Oh well I guess not two inches, 1 inch. It sure looked like mine were alot smaller though. I was just going to go with the perrin endlinks now instead. Were yours this much smaller than OEM??? http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=98 And here is a picture of the latteral link bar that mine was resting on, although it has plenty of space on this picture: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=102
I will PM Matt and ask them if they will work with the RSB I put on my Saabaru. If they will indeed work then consider them sold. Cheers Chris
Well, I just pm'd Matt also. I think we were installing them wrong. I'm going to let him see what he thinks. But, I'm 99% sure they will work for me. I think we were mountiong the passenger side of the sway bar on the wrong side of the endlink. After looking at the way they are mounted in the picture I linked above. It has the sway bar mounted to the inside bushing on the endlink. I remember looking at it last night and we had it mouted on the bushing facing the wheel. So I think that was the problem and since it was late, we were gettting tired(my car wasn't very cooperative) we all kinda said **** it and threw the OEM's on without really trying to hard to figure it out. I think thats why the driver side mounted fine. The sway bar was mounted on the inside bushing of the end link.
OK Matt I don't know what you saw but I was installing the link correctly. The problem is that since the bolt center is closer on the KB end links this brings the adjustable RSB closer to the lateral link. So close that the RSB bottemed out on the lateral link. If you go to the picture you linked that would be the blue RSB hitting the black lateral link. Yes Chris they should be fine on your car has an OEM bend and is not adjustiable
Yeah, sorry Matt I was wrong, my mistake. Maybe I was just tired and thought I saw something I didn't... That and I think I was just HOPING it was installed wrong. Cris if you want them they are YOURS! Give me a call on when you want them. Matt 320-248-8202
