NIB: I bought it about a month ago and don't have the time to install it... which means I realllly don't have the time to use it. Retail is around 175-180. I'd like to get that for it if possible, obo.

Yeah, this is a nice high end card. Currently in the sweet spot of price vs performance. Pretty sure all of these cards are PCI-E, as well.

Now, why you selling it again? ;)

This is the standard card we use in our Sims, the best value on the market.

Gddr3 and its prolly 256 bit 512mb. They do make 256mb and 1gb versions but they are less common. Which manufacturer is it?

The 8800GT eGeforce I have been buying for about this price is a single slot cooling 512mb. You can buy the 8800 GTX which has dual slot cooling out the back but its a bunch more money.

Your right there is a 1g version but the cost is about 50-75 more.

I have this exact same card and can vouch for its quality. For the price its a beast. Up the clocks alittle and you have about 8800gtx performance. EVGA has one of the best warranty and step-up programs you'll find.

Definitly the best card of the money.

I have a 512MB 8800 GTS which I think just means the stock clock speed is a little faster. All the 8800's are DDR3 as far as I can tell. The great thing about these new SLI-ready cards is you can just buy another one when you wnat to upgrade down the road.

I bought the 8800 'GTS' model and have been plagued by issues with artifacting, crashes, and BSODs that I never got with the old 7600 :emo:. I heard those cards have been a total toss up on whether they will run stable or not.

SLI is pretty awesome, just that you'll need supporting mods if your gonna run it with the 8800 series cards as they are MASSIVE.

The 512mb 8800 GTS G92 is alittle different than the 8800 gt. They both have the same cores, 128 stream processors, however the 8800 gt only has 112 of them functional. Why nvidia did this i do not know, but if i had to guess it was to lower the price. The clock speeds are different, but those are adjustable with Ntune. Each card will be alittle different, but for benchmarking and playing crysis i run my core at 730mhz, and ram at 1100mhz.

IMO The only advantage the G92 has on the GT is the higher bit rate of RAM. Making the g92 a better performing card when running above 1920x1080 resolutions. And even then, the GT will still have good performance.

Keep in mind that the GT is about $100 cheaper than the GTS G92. That is why I would choose the GT over the G92.

We have used at least 40 of these cards in our Sims this year and never had a problem. You do need at least a 450w power supply on the PC this is installed in, mimimum! You also need a mother board that has PCI-e bus slots.

SLI is not all that its cracked up to be, you see some improvement but NOT 2x.

Sorry sorry, its not the bit rate, they are both 256bit. Was thinking difference between G92 and GTX. Its the memory clock speed thats different. There is faster memory in the G92. Thats wat gives it a slight advantage.

Yes, SLI is FTL. Big waste of money, and I will never have an sli system again.

Yeah its pretty much a toss up with the 8800GTS cards, its a well documented problem. Some people have 0 problems and some get dominated. ><

Due to the simple fact that I haven't even had the time to install the thing, let alone get a new powersupply, and on toppa that I certainly don't have the time to be using it as it out to be used. Yeah, I'm that guy.
