FS: SPT Intake, Heat Shield and Cat-back

Exhaust has about 150 miles on it and the Intake about 300. Reason for selling is they are just too loud for my taste. With the noise and me not wanting to tune my car for those mods it doesn't make sense to keep it.

SPT intake and heat shield: $200.00 (250 shipped from subarugenuineparts)
SPT cat-back exhaust: $370.00 (422 new from BP Subaru)

Buy both and save over $100.00 off what you'd pay anywhere else. These parts are about as new as they come.

I have the same set up and I have been satisfied so far. I kept the stock exhaust, about 13,000 miles on it. Its for 2006 WRX so if you are looking to go back to a stock exhaust I have one for sale or trade.

Just a few editorial comments, more like a rant. I was really apprehensive about the loudness. I do not want to be stopped for anything especially loud exhaust since the law in Minnesota is based on the opinion of the officer. SPT does claim their CBE meets loudness requirements in all 50 states. But still I do not want to be noticed by a traffice officer to become a target to be stopped and get a ticket for some bogus charge. The state patrol has been chanellged on this before. I witnessed a new red Corvette going north on 94 towards Rogers. The posted speed limit is 70 mph. Three lanes of traffic and many times there is group of cars going just over 60 mph. I guess they are not aware that the limit is 70. The Vette is in the right lane behind the slower traffic. A state patrol car is following from a distance. The Vette accelerates to the middle lane a little fast than traffic in that lane. The state patrol officer immediately pulls him over. Meanwhile there is a stream of traffic that was at 70 or more in the left most lane passing th Vette!. The Vette never went more than the speed limit. Stealth is one way to avoid such traffic stops. The state patrol just loves to use the loud exhaust to pull people over that they suspect to be guilty of something else like DWI or drugs. Because of the way the law is written, the officer's word counts more than anything else and over rides any expert or sound measurement. That way they can legally justify the traffic stop in court where the charge is something else. By the way the driver of the Vette was just a Baby Boomer that finally had the money to buy the car of his dreams. No other charges.

Well, sad to see you let it go.....

And just for the sake of anyone else who is interested in it.... It's not that loud if you have a stock downpipe. And you DO NOT have to tune the car for any of the above mods. It's all Subaru Parts, so it WILL NOT void your warranty.

And as far as the cops go... I have a Cat-less STG2 car that often ****s fire...and have not been pulled over so far. I drive by far too many cops just to get the arse-hole ones that would pull someone over for loud exhaust and they don't even look at me. I would not be the least bit worried about the cops with a part that says SPT right on the side of the muffler, and I would be sure to point it out to the officer.

    Good luck on the sale.
