Ever since watching Rally Sweden, I've always wanted to drive a car with AWD + studded tires. Well I finally made it happen and had a blast at the last two ice races. But now I have to go Europe for work, and after that will come spring, and after that I'm moving to a warmer climate. So these must be sold before Feb 6th! I digress.

I bought these tires mounted on a set of air-cooled VW rims. Apparently the guy never used them since the little rubber nobbies were still on them. I could have taken the easy route and mounted them on steelies. But what fun is that?!? If you're ice racing, you gotta have something unique that you wouldn't normally do. So I found some Legacy alloys which I then decided to paint them in the closest shade I could find to STi pink. You'll see in the pictures, it's more like fluorescent pink. On a scale from 1-10, they totally score an 11 in the "Look at me!" category. I digress again.

After I used them once, the nobbies were gone so they were clearly virgin tires. Since I mounted them on the Legacy rims, I've done 2 GLCQ ice "driving" events, and Phi11 rented them and used them at the ice "races" up in Orr. PM him if you'd like to get his opinion of the setup.

Adding up the costs I have, I figure I'll let them go for $375 obo. I think this is pretty reasonable considering I could sell the rims alone on eBay for $400. (If I took some paint thinner to them HAHA!) ((If you don't believe me look it up. I didn't believe the person I bought them from, so I looked them up...he was right))

There's still plenty of ice driving left, so these are your ticket to the podium! Buy your way to the podium so you can win some sort of cheesy wood plaque!

As you can see below, it's a pretty mild stud. I liked this, so it wouldn't wreak havoc on my drivetrain. Just enough of an advantage to beat up on the studless. They are great in the snow too. (Usually ice tires suck in the snow, which these don't) Often, I'd look for a bit of snow to hook the front inside wheel on which would keep me magnetized to the apex and proper line.

Tires are officially "M&S Rayon 165 SR 15 (no sidewall % height given) There were no clearance issues anywhere on my Lesbo-wagon, so they should fit on any Sube with brakes small enough to rock 15's and wheel wells large enough to run 17's)

    Rims are 15" x 6" +55, 5x100 18lbs (w/o tires...there's a lot of rubber on these tires)
