have any recomandations on a good fuel filter? or do the average one's at checker work just fine. i have about 102,000 miles and need to change it. iam sure the previous owner only did it once or twice not even. thanks
is it easy to change, can it be done with two people or should i take it to a shop to have it done... ( is it dangerous thats the question )
what kind of car, on my02 wrx it is under the hood on the driver sid but the strut tower. there are 2 hoses with a clamp on each, a clamp around the filter. I did, mine, my dads, my sisters and my moms in a half hour... yes we all love our subies.. we are using amsoil fuel filters..
I used a couple of vice grips and rags to pinche the hoses, had very minimul gas spilled. but yea it is traigh forward....
You probably won't even have to do that if you let the car sit overnight to let the fuel pressure drop. The other thing you can do is to pull the fuel pump plug harness under the glovebox and let the car just run out of gas. Turn it over a few more times and you won't have any fuel pressure left. Be thankful you don't have an '05 -- Subaru moved the location to the trank, iirc.
^^^^ release the pressur from the tank..... loosen all the screws on teh hoses... change out and re-tighten everyhting... also any aftermarket filter will work... like I sadi I changed mine (napa filter) and havent had 1 issue....
