fun old project car

ok im low on cash. so what do i do? i buy a 400 dollar 94 legacy awd non-turbo 140k auto (which was boring). then i say screw the auto and against what everyone i know i threw out the trans and put in a 5 speed out of a 100 dollar donor car "sweeeeeet". so now im sitting on a 500 dollar car then i sold the trans for 200 replaced all the seals motor and trans. cold air it. now i dont know what to do next got any ideas?

 

well what do you want to get out of it? I'd vote chump car or IIRA

 

well its a total sleeper right now i waxed a stock eclipse and about made the little highschooler cry lol. but i like off roading so i kinda want to do something with that. not much of a straight line guy.

AWDimprezaL has quite the successful, low-budget boost story on an EJ22E.

 

boosting it will cost you a few hundred bucks, now i don't know if you are just really excited or what but i'm not entirely sure what you want to do..since you said you are low on funds..
and off-roading has multiple meanings..you could just drive it as is and beat the piss out of it..
but my dad always told me, if you can dream it, it can be done..(and no he wasn't talking about life he meant cars)

 

i like the way you guys think. ok let me see i wanna start doing rally trialsthat would be more my style. i wanna find just a stock system off a wrx that way i wont be running to much boost for the poor car i dont really want to beat the piss out of it i want it to last a little while.ya im way excited after it not working for a month i was starting to think i would never get it going lol.

on my 2.2 i am running a tdo4 (stock wrx turbo) without a boost controller i'm running about 4-5psi.
Find/make a custom Up Pipe, use stock wrx TB exhaust. (will be a tight fit depending on UP fitment)

honestly thats about it for a turbo setup. yeah you will need a few more things but really thats all it takes
if you are serious, its not the best guide, but its mine and i can find it quickly :biggrin:

Indeed My home made turbo kit has been making me smile for the past 4-ish years without major issues. Gained a good 100whp over stock.
