So I've been making a trip to the MSP area every two weeks and will most likely do so until spring time. Anyone been to any cool events, bars, or restaurants in the area that they would recommend? I've been hitting up uptown pretty frequently as well as dinky town. I'm trying to keep the budget to a minimum since I'm driving 1000 miles from ND to see a girl...
and a free clinic in uptown... you wouldn't have to pay for the condoms. I heard testing is free too.... Just incase.
Check out Lake Calhoun. Fat Larenzo's Pizza/pasta off of cedar and 62...also right there is the 5-8 Club which was one of the burger joints on Man vs.Food. Known for delicious Juicy Lucys. You trying to smooze the woman? Or just find stuff for yourself to do? Jackson's Cafe in Uptown just west of Lyndale Ave on Lake St. has some pretty good gelatto(sp?)also.
I have recently become poor and my favorite way to pass the time is to take a hike in a park. Afton state park is gorgeous right now, lebanon hills is cool, theodore wirth is really close by, and fort snelling is fun too. Are you into winter sports like nordic skiing or snowshoeing? A few places in the area rent gear on weekends, I know lebanon hills does and its pretty cheap so you don't have to buy / haul it all to see if it is for you or not. Blue door pub in saint paul is a good bet for burgers.
