Hey guys. I may be picking up a rest free shell in a few weeks so I might be selling my daily driver. Im just posting to see if there is interest on the forum. leave a comment or shoot me a PM if your interested. If i pick up the shell I would be selling the Impreza the first week of november, 11/3/14. Ok here we go... 1996 Subau Impreza Outback Wagon 235,xxx miles EJ22E engine 5 speed manual trans Want to get $900.00 Good: -2004 WRX seats. -Nice Sony deck and speakers (X4) -Starts. -Runs. -Drives. -Shifts. -High intensity pussy magnet installed (e.g. RS hood with scoop and vents. ****ty plasti dip over silver paint) -New trans and diff fluid. all synthetic. -Oil change 500 miles ago. Bad: -Lots of rust. -The rear passenger side wheel bearing is going out and grinds during right and turns. -Front drivers side axle clicks during lower speed turns. -The clicking axle is seized into the hub... -The center diff (I believe) gets a little crunchy in reverse (all other gears shift fine and have no grinding) -Leaks oil from VC and oil separator plate. 1 quart per 3k oil change. (the oil just drips onto the exhaust and burn. doesn't leave anything on the ground) -The struts suck. They were savagely destroyed by all those damn potholes this past spring. -Tires are mismatched -Drips gas when tank is full Thats about it. Could use some work but has never failed me as a DD. Would make a great winter beater or a cheap DD. The seats may stay in my possession and go in my new shell. Stock seats in good condition would be installed instead. The hood will come with it no matter what unless I get offers for it. Then a blue stock hood will be installed. Pics:
I remember being 16 and seeing the Subaru Impreza Outback Sport and thinking its the perfect car. I knew nothing about cars mind you. I saw awd, the sexy hood scoop made me think it had a turbo, the small size made it light and maneuverable, the hatchback made it great for whatever a single guy needed to haul, and the outback moniker gave it a little off road spunk. I've never driven one so I have no idea how much I would've been pleased/disappointed. I saw the 2.2 and knew it was bigger then my used saturn at the time.
It sounds like you were a pretty reasonable 16 year old! Those are basically all the reasons I own the car. haha
Hello rallyx car! Someone better snap this up... I'd consider it, but I don't have room for a 3rd. glws!
Essentially yes! lol. I paid 150 for the hood. Id like to get around a hundred. Not super inclined to sell the hood separate tho. Its the only halfway good looking thing about the car. haha
Yeah! this would make a great rally X car. I would keep in and X it but I don't have the space either.
I think after I get back from CO I'm going to fix the axle, the hub, and possibly the struts. Expect updates later this week.
Could be interested ! What will be the new price after the axle, hub and maybe struts? I will be waiting
I would probably up the price a hundred bucks or so with the new parts. I really depends on how easy it is to get the bad hubs off haha. I will keep you guys updated.
