I'm in for sure I was dreading the drive down there! Does he just road tune them or is he renting space with 4 wheel dyno? And any idea how long he takes to tune a car i've got some what of a budget!(family)But never the less very pumped about him coming up that really does kick***.

how does jorge do his tuning? i am intrigued and would like to tag along even though i cant get in on the tuning. i gots no monies. i wanna watch though.

Im sure he would spend atleast 2 hours on one car, but I could be wrong. Last year they rented out a awd dyno so im sure thats how it would work again this time. Maybe somebody who was there last year can chime in???

Well looks like there is some interest here. The math escapes me right now but IIRC It was 350.00 for a two hour session. This did not include the money I spent on Plane ticket, Fan rental, and proper care of Jorge.

Start from his archive of hundreds of UTEC maps with a setup close to your mods. Then it's dyno pull, check log, change map, dyno pull, check log, change map, etc. Or at least that's the gist of it.

He just knows how to dial in a car really well and with a minimum of fuss. He'll know how achieve the best spool up for your turbo and the proper amount of advance to run, thanks to LOTS of experience.

I would be surprised if you had the kind of fan sitting around that is required for cooling off a car on a dyno.

They move SERIOUS amounts of air.

Here is my situation...I have a set of wheels that I need to move NOW. I need to know where I can pick up 4 boxes, sized 27"X27"X12". As soon as I have these wheels sent to the buyer, I will have a UTEC. (Wife MANDATES that I have those wheels gone before I buy anything else) So, can anyone help me find boxes...if I get boxes...then I am definately in on this shizzle, forizzle.

How much of a difference does he seem to on average add to the standard UTEC numbers? I'm at cobb stage 2 right now and have kicked around the idea of a UTEC, but leary about tuning.

I don't have any numbers to give you, since it totally depends on your mods...but I can say that going from an off-the-shelf TXS basemap tune to a fully customized tune for YOUR car is a night and day difference.

So...can I pull up with a oem ecu and have jorge do a custom turn and pay him? Or do I need to buy some aftermarket engine management first for him to work from?

I just sold my accessport so I'm back to stock wiht catless uppipe, catless downpipe, k&n drop in and restrictor mod.

Oh...this is a forester xt.

I thought there would be alot more people signing up! From what i've seen on the forums is that anyone he has worked with see's some really good gains so i would figure any one with a UTEC would be in on this. plus it's alot cheaper then driving down there!

I got together with Matt yesterday and we decided it going to be around 350.00 per person and we would like to request a 100.00 deposite within the next month so we can really see who is seriuos about this and who isnt. We would like to get things all hammered down on our end before we go and get Jeorge up here. The remainder of the balance will be due 1 month before Jeorges arrival date.

Everyone: Thanks for the kind word and the interest. Erik will be the point man on this. Once a date and schedule are setup I'll defineately be working with the attendees, profiling and getting a feel for what they'd like their cars to do. That way, if there are any recommendations on parts changes you should consider, we can talk about the realistic expectations now.

EDIT: oh yeah... depending on ECUTEK, the single user tuner packages will be out for the bug-eyes/XT's and FBW cars (LGT, STI). So that will offer people wanting to invest in flash technology, another option. For those who don't know what this is..

This would obvioulsy extend out to AP users with Street Tuners. I'm yet to decide if the $4k investment in the Pro Tuner is justified. But at the least, I'll be able to dial in Street Tuners as well.
