Anybody know what the differences between Impreza L wagons and Outback sports are besides the paint job?

depends a bit on the year...

stock tire size on the obs is 205/60/15, L is 195/60/15

OBS has anti-lock brakes, a lot of Ls don't have that, but some did.

as far as I can tell the suspension is identical, and I haven't been able to find any info online, but some people think OBS has softer spring rates. The ride height seems exactly the same (I have obs, my wife has an L wagon.)

hmm.. interior is a different color, there's a cigarette outlet power thing in the back cargo area.

engine, tranny, etc, are all the same.

I think the rest is pure visual, paint job, scoop, wings (on some).

How much torque can stock GC axles handle? Depends on tires, I suppose . . .

well, the stock axles can handle at least as much torque as fuji's wagon is putting out. I'd suspect you'd break something in the transmission before you would break the axles.

Differences? Nothing to be concerned of if you're gonna swap it and throw suspension in it...seriously the same thing besides paintjob/interior color/abs/hood...

sorry no, do your research a bit more, same engine, same transmission suspension IS the same, and most of the interior save for pattern on the seats is the same too.

I guess not, I think the additional ground clearance listed in the specs comes from the difference in tire size.
