Some of you guys say my car at the ice race when I was running the stock untuned V5 engine / turbo and some KYB AGX shocks... Well, it got a lot faster and a lot better... But it also cost a LOT more money in the process and I'm planning on getting rid of it. For the right price, of course... Target boost on pump gas by the ECUTEK reflash is 19.5PSI This car is really, really fast. High 11's 1/4 mile, 170+ Miles an hour kind of fast I don't want to sell it, but it has cost me a fortune to get it to where it is now, and I am just tired of working on it. I am looking for a 2004 / 2005 STI: I would be willing to do a trade + cash, or sell the car outright if the price is right. ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS: 1- This car is my only car and my daily driver. I have driven it across the country a couple of times (3000+ mile trips) which is where the high mileage comes from. The current engine has 680 miles on it though; it just got completely rebuilt with forged pistons and race bearings. 2- It gets 27MPG highway and runs on 91 octane. I only run it on 93 though. 3- No CELs, no mechanical problems. You can see how I did the original swap here The V8 Engine swap info is here. This is not all current; it doesn't show the 3rd iteration with the forged pistons, etc. But it gives you an idea. VIDEOS: Boost Response Autocross (prior to the car being tuned or having coilovers) MAKE ME AN OFFER.
The body is a 1999 2.5RS, clean title. It has about 100 000 miles. The engine has 680 miles on it; I had it rebored and put forged pistons, the kevlar timing belt, high pressure oil pump and race bearings in it. I did the engine swap myself with the help of an experienced mechanic (Tim Sanderson: He also does all the work on my car). The wiring was done over the course of 6 days: I am a double major in mechanical and electrical engineering and took the extra time to solder and heat shrink everything. Lachute Performance completed the wiring by adding an intake air temperature sensor so they could flash the ECU to JDM STI Version 6 Type RA, which gives the car automatic intercooler spray. The ECU was also ECUTEK flashed at the time. The flash + work they did alone cost $2100. The car has over $15000 invested in it, not counting the price of the car itself. I am the second owner; I bought it from a doctor in NY (original owner) just under 3 years ago.
Whoa this thing has changed alot since i last saw it. too bad you are selling this is a fast car. you should sell it back to that doctor now, and see what he thinks lol. geez everyone is selling their swapped cars. Whats the asking price? i dont think i saw it in your post. good luck.
hey ive seen ur car around the net.... nice car i give u mad props just for messing with the harnesss hahahaha loce the car suck u have to seel it..
Transmission: I am running the stock 2.5RS tranny. It was rebuilt right before the swap, and has 24000miles on it since the rebuild. I installed a lightweight flywheel and filled it with some redline shockproof synthetic gear oil, and it hasn't given me any problems since; it will shift every gear without grinding and even shift into 1st from a roll. I believe the reason why this works is because the car is extremely light (2840lbs with half a tank of fuel last time I weighted it, and that was before the coilovers), the flywheel is light (12lbs) and also because it is impossible to produce full boost while shifting, so there is less impact on the tranny. I have never taken it to a track or a drag race, but last winter a friend and I got a G-Tech to do some runs. I was running the old motor (Version 5) with a smaller turbo (VF29) and the car had not been tuned in any way. On a full interior, full tank of 93 octane, and SNOW TIRES, it ran: 0-100km/h in 4.06seconds 1/4 mile in 12.6 seconds at 113MPH, with a passenger. ScoobySteve on NASIOC has the same car with a very similar swap (2.5RS with a Version 6STI motor) and he ran the 1/4 in 11.8 seconds, UNTUNED, at 18PSI. I would expect this car to do better, but I am not interested in hammering on it like that. I will, however, say that it will go over 170MPH Don't ask me how I know, but Kelly can confirm that story Price: I have an offer for $15500. Anything over that will probably buy the car outright from me. Offers below that will be considered as back up should the initial offer fail. As I said before I would also be interested in trading for an STI + cash. I REALLY don't want to sell the car. It makes me sad just to think of having to let it go. But, realistically, this is not the car to have on a student budget: I sank enormous amounts of money into it (Over 10000 dollars this year alone, between reflash, forged internals, new turbo, coilovers, etc.) and that has left me with a huge credit card bill. I want to sell the car, pay off my credit cards, and with my parent's help purchase something stock or close to stock and keep it that way until I graduate and have a job that can support modding at this level.
OMG FTD (for teh drool) That's a sweet ride. Good luck with the sale. I know what you mean about not wanting to work on it anymore. I'm only half way through my tranny swap on the SVX and I'm tired of it.
wow, already got an offer for 15,5. WHERE ARE THESE GUYS WHEN I NEED OFFERS ON MY CAR, HUH? jk. Might have the yellow car sold by the end of the week (fingers crossed)
