i notice that while driving today my 1st gear seems to always pop. Not pop out of gear but as soon as i clutch in, its like the clutch just engage like it would during a hard upshift. I notice it after one hr of driving on it. can it be the fluid?

You just can't drive! Let me test it first before you make more decisions. Like I said, it could be JUST your timing. Because mine will do that if I miss time pulling it out of gear before I clutch in.

Being that it's a lightweight flywheel, the engine is going to slow down a lot quicker. Just master your timing first then you'll be smooth. Yea, Mine does it at 3k RPMs and above too.

you must have read it wrong FUE!! do you not see that i said it "JERKS AS YOU CLUTCH IN!" That's even before i even touch the shifter or even attempt to shift, as soon as i clutch in it jerks like it would during a hard upshift. that doesn't mean i can't drive it.

Are you going to be at Firestone tonite, Lue? If you are take Fuji and I for a ride(if you haven't given him one already). We'll see if its just something with yur shifting or if its doing something new or if you want I can take it for a drive and tell you if anything feels different on it. Worst case scenario you have the tranny. The clutch should be fine as it was replaced at 140k or so and is supposedly stronger than stock(actually made by the same company though unless I was misinformed).

Edit - in regards to the tranny fluid it is running gm syncromesh just in case you are thinking about changing it but shouldn't be necessary since it was just replaced this summer - I'm currently looking for a date and mileage for you - I'll post when I find it. And also that clutch engages hard especially in first gear. To me it felt like the clutch grabbed hard all the time and not just after an hour or more of driving.

well, clutch chatter comes into play when the clutch is cold, this happens after driving it for awhile and when the tranny warms up. It doesn't occur until after the car has been driving for a period of time. I let fuji drove it the other day, he thinks that the bearing in the tranny is bad. Either way it doesn't really matter, im swapping the new tranny on.
