I hate having to put this thread up, but I have to.

I bought wrexinator03's 03 sonic yellow wrx sedan after he crashed it. My progress on this project has been abysmal; I have no space; and now I have no spare money and no job security. Wrong time in my life for this project, unfortunately.

So, I need to see if anyone is interested in taking this off my hands. If anyone is really interested, I suggest PMing me and coming to look at the car in person, hence no photos here.

In the accident, the passenger side timing belt cover was broken, as was a cam gear. Internal damage has not been determined, but it seems likely that there may be damage to the valves. I'm told there may not be, but likely is. I've also been told that the pistons are probably fine and have not been damaged. Crossmember does not appear to be bent. A couple misc things in the engine bay are destroyed: I think the power steering reservoir, brake lines leading away from the ABS pump are bent (ABS pump is fine).

The car has a vf34 with supporting injectors and walbro and open source ecu tune, made like 265 awhp, iirc. Tranny and rear diff are good. Car had about 90k miles on it.

I do have a set of Chimera ported and polished heads and a set of used but good camshafts to go with the car.

The car is partially stripped, interior, doors, wheels, and down pipe back of the exhaust are gone. Dash, full wiring harness, everything that's part of the drive train and suspension is all there (some removed, but comes with car).

I owe $2000 on a personal loan I took out to buy this. That's what I'm looking to get for it. The insurance buy back on the car was $2800. I've sold a few pieces off it and bought the heads for it. I won't be breaking even on this, and I'm okay with that - but I'm not going to let it go for hundreds less than what I owe. I'll just keep it and keep working on it before I do that, which is what I'll probably do anyway cause I doubt anyone will buy this. But I gotta see. If I can sell it, I should.

Sorry Jeff (if u see this).

Also, THIS IS NOT A PART OUT. The only part out I will consider is selling the whole car minus the tranny and its associated parts (flywheel, all clutch parts, pedals, shifter, and rear diff). I am not going to sell little pieces of this project. It either stays or goes as a whole project.

Sad to see that you are selling this. I have informed the people I know who maybe interested. This is one heck of a deal! If you had posted this a few months ago I would have been all over it.

    Replying.

I agree. I almost hope no one buys it. But those who have seen my space to work in would probably agree I have a snowballs chance in hell of pulling off a swap there. And there's the whole angry landlord never wanted the car there in the first place, lack of skill, lack of tools, no money to put into the project for who knows how long. There's a lot working against me on this. I've been debating this GI thread for about 3 months. When I have space (house + garage), I will be coming back to this, but I can't keep this donor car that long and I need to start reducing my current financial burdens.

I appreciate people's interest, but I guess I should state this emphatically:

THIS IS NOT A PART OUT. The only part out I will consider is selling the whole car minus the tranny and its associated parts (flywheel, all clutch parts, pedals, shifter, and rear diff). I am not going to sell little pieces of this project. It either stays or goes as a whole project.

    There. Or here. Sometimes both.
Too bad. I was hoping to see a detailed thread about your planned swap into your RS as that would be awesome.

    Good luck!
