2004 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon, 145k miles,5MT(this will be increasing, as it is my daily driver)

    $7,000 OBO

3 pix with stock wheels (winters), 1 with summers

View attachment 24180 View attachment 24181 View attachment 24182 View attachment 24179

This car is my baby, but I'm back in school and can't afford it anymore especially with relocation to the east coast on the horizon. Hoping to find someone that will love it like I did. :emo:

    - THE GOOD -

    Clear title / Carfax report
TWO owners (Carfax says 3, but I've owned it since May 2008 and 90,000 miles)
Most of the miles are freeway commuting miles
    Always meticulously & regularly maintained
    Oil Changed regularly
Tastefully modded daily driver (see below for mods)
Newer used (?30k mi) td04 turbo at 127k
New struts at 138k (Tokico D-Specs)
New brake rotors & pads at 135k
    Aftermarket sunroof installed
Comes with two sets of wheels - Summer & Winter

    - THE BAD -

The roof, rear hatch, and hood were dimpled in the St. Paul hail storm fall of 2010. I replaced the hood and nothing else, but the other dents are small.

I was rear-ended once in this car, and I was in a fender-bender last summer. Damage from both was repaired completely, and the airbag never deployed.

The bottom center stud on the replacement turbo was short before I installed it. Last time I was under the car I noticed that the nut had come off. This means it has 4 out of the normal 5 bolts holding it to the downpipe. Doesn't seem like a big issue to me, but this is full disclosure to potential buyers.

Aftermarket sunroof doesn't work. $350 to repair.

One of the summer wheels' forged lips is bent (bought it this way). SSR D5R's are discontinued. It's drivable and does hold air just fine.

3,500 miles ago, Morrie's recommended replacing the valve cover gasket (oil leak) and thermostat gasket (coolant leak) but I decided not to have then do it. Since then, the car has lost less than half a quart of oil and no noticeable amount of coolant, so this may have been bogus but I'm still keeping an eye on it.

OK seriously... you can't make this stuff up. Someone literally JUST hit my car parked on the street. The rear alignment appears to be screwed up, and the rear quarter panel is all bent.

Still want to sell it, but obviously not now.

    Further info, as requested:
    Timing belt replaced around 105k
    Zero headgasket issues
Clutch shows no sign of slippage

All PM's replied. Thanks for braving the snow today and coming out to see the car!

I just got off the phone with Progressive. The car will be towed to storage for tonight, then probably to Progressive's inspection facility tomorrow. I'll keep the thread updated.

Car is being towed from tow storage to the body shop today. Other driver's insurance will inspect. I'll probably be on the phone on and off all day today.

Ok, you guys have to quit putting your cars up for sale - apparently that's asking fate to have someone smash into your cars; Same thing happened to dhanso312's car shortly after being put up for sale :( Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

damn, over the last three weeks or so, I've seen a lot of mirrors that have been hit, on jamusix's street.
that same night, I parked on the street, and told my wife that I didn't feel that my car was safe.
    sorry to hear this.

Thanks, everyone. Yeah, it sucks. So far so good, though.

Other driver's insurance hasn't picked up the slack yet. No phone call from them yet.

Still no word from other driver's insurance. Car is at the body shop waiting to be inspected. I'm planning to call my insurance later today and get them on it.

ALSO: addition to the first post -- this car is a 5MT

not sure why I forgot to mention that and no one asked, but there ya go.

Thanks. Progressive is my insurance... just got tired of waiting for the other owner's insurance to call. Progressive's customer service kicks butt. Like, awesome butt. Everything should work out fine from here on out. Just takes time.

Additional information re: summer wheels -- did some inquiring and as far as I know, no one in town will touch forged lips. In other words, the bad wheel may not be easily repairable.

Sorry, all repairs are almost finished. The car has been at Hamline Auto Body for the last three weeks. I will sell if everything checks out when I drive it again.

Progressive did not declare this car totalled, so the title should still be clear.
