I tend to ramble forever about cars when I sell them, so I apologize if this gets lengthy. I am the 2nd owner of this car, and have nothing but amazing times with it. I purchased it stock from the original owner in 2005 from Chicago. It had just over 40k miles at that time, and currently sits with 62,xxx miles. There has been many modifications done over the past 4 years. I had a vision, and this spring, my vision was completed.....which is why I am contemplating selling/trading. I manage Tintmasters in Fargo, and enjoy taking a car to new limits, however once I have achieved the vision, I am left looking for a new project. Our business is surrounded around modifying vehicles, and this car (IMO) needs nothing further. The car was swapped by me and the boys at the shop about 8,000 miles ago. It is an EJ20g from the JDM 96' WRX. I have added performance upgrades along with a tuner from Washington state, and have traded info back and forth to help create eprom chips for the ecu. His RS is an exact duplicate of mine, with the exception of my EWG. His RS dyno'd at 298whp. I am not a dyno guy, and do not care what an easily manipulated machine tells me about my power numbers. It is fast, fun, and reliable. Since the swap, I have not had a single problem. No sensors have gone out, no stalling, nothing. On cold days, it does stumble around 400rpms for about 2-3 seconds, then finds the correct idle. This is a very common characteristic of the EJ20g in sub 50 degree temps and research can confirm that this isn't something to be concerned with. During the summer it is very fun, and handles very well on the street. The motor had 62,000km (38,xxx miles) on it when it was swapped, so the motor is sitting with about 46,000 miles today. I have used the RS transmission since the swap with no issues whatsoever. The buyer/trader of this will also get an EJ20g transmission as a spare. Here is some pictures from the evolution of my car to it's current state, along with a modification list: As I bought it: and today: Crappy cell interior pictures (I can provide better pics as requested), interior is mint. Graphics are vinyl and removable. The car is rust free, with the exception of a tiny bubble on the passenger door (under vinyl). Front end is rock chip free and fresh paint as of this spring. Rest of the body is straight with paint in good condition. As far as trade goes, I want to stay in the Subaru family, something newer. I also may entertain a newer 4wd SUV. Fairly stock is preferred, to As far as purchase goes, I am looking at $15,500, and can negotiate price with removal of parts. However I will not part out until current trades/offers have died down. THIS CAR NEEDS NOTHING, JUST A GOOD OWNER. Jason
Thank you guys! It is going to have to be a pretty sweet trade to let it go....but I think the time is near to start something new. I don't expect it to sell for cash, as financing $15k will be tough, and not too many people have that kind of money laying around. I think I might cry if it goes....
Sad to see you're trying to get rid of it... this car is the reason why i broke down and bought a subie (i had wanted one forever but then everyone seemed to be getting them so i was hesitant on getting one, then i saw this and couldnt fight it anymore...) good luck with the sale, this is a very well done car...
It may not be leaving just yet....I am just being a bit more active with seeing what is available to me with trades or a buyer... it wouldn't be torture if I ended up keeping it another winter That thing in the snow is amazing!
jason has been coveting my wagon for a couple months now. this would be a good trade... ...for me.
wanna trade for a stock 05 Outback xt with 64K and fully serviced at Bloomington subaru and Morries? Im kinda kidding cause i dont think you'd ever do this, but pm if it interests you
You aren't the one with the wagon from Elroy are you? If not, I am not sure I know which wagon you have....If you are the owner of that Elroy wagon, I still b!tch about that ordeal to date haha That is interesting, but unfortunately not what I am looking for. Nice car, no doubt! You got it Blake...It would have to be a pretty crazy deal to get rid of it without everything on it, but if that ends up being the case, I will hit you up... PM's replied, sorry for the delay!
yep, i have elroy's wagon. just spent half an hour scooping water out of the spare tire well in the back. i think there is a leak around one of the tail lights.
for some odd reason the drain plug is not in the bottom on this car like on the trunk of my other leaky car. oh, and bump for a cool car.
You are a bad man Are you heading to LSPR next weekend? A group of us from the shop are gonna head out to good ol' Houghton next Thursday!
Still available and entertaining offers. Ideally looking for a straight swap on 04' STi, or 04-06 2.5RS/Leggy/other options + cash.
