GI: My '02 rex wagon NOW WITH PICTURES I will get some pictures tomorrow when I get a chance to detail it. I know I'm a long ways away, but if I can get actual financing, I'll drive it home for a buyer when I take leave soon. I'm in southern california, so obviously thats why this is a Gauging interest. I recently submitted a package for MSG duty which would send me to 3 different countries over 3 years. Obviously not condusive to owning a car. Its an '02 silver rex, 129,900 miles. Has had oil changes every 3k since I picked it up a year and a half ago. ****EDIT!!! PICTURES as promised***** At 122k: New timing belt, tensioner, waterpump, etc. New wheels were put on, with brand new falken tires. At 124k: New spark plugs, wheels balanced when I felt a shimmy (turns out a wheel weight popped off), also, new brake pads all around. At 124.5k: Had the car aligned professionally. At 125K: Fresh coolant, and brake fluid. Installed catless uppipe. At 128k: Rotors turned (80% life left after turn). Stock Catless downpipe installed. Open ECU tune to stg 1. Logs returned solid on a 91 octane tune. The bad about the car is A. The paint has nicks, like most subarus do up front. The front left fender isnt perfect, looks as though someone popped it in by leaning on it, and then fixed it. Its not very noticeable unless you see it at the right angle. The clutch needs to be replaced eventually. I replaced the clutch fluid, and it turns out that was a large part of the slight shudder I felt. The rest is probably a flywheel that could be turned when the clutch is swapped out. It DOES NOT slip, and grabs hard regardless of gear or RPM its in. A test drive would show that it probably is at 25% life remaining on the clutch. I'm a very honest person when it comes to stuff like this. I still drive the car, and love driving it. Ask anyone on here thats done business with me, or knows me on a personal level. If theres a problem with something I own, I'll tell you. Anyways, onto the good stuff. All of the maintenance is up to date. The car has been babied (also see others for my driving habits). I hardly see 4k rpm, and wash and wax it every week. The flaws in the paint could easily be fixed, as the rest of the cars paint is very good. The car has 35% tint, put on by the previous owner. The car was completely stock aside from the aftermarket springs. Its currently sitting on H&R wagon springs. It has 17x7 matte black Sparco Racing Spec-D wheels, with Falken tires that have 65%-70% life left. The tune is great, boost comes smooth with power delivery very early (hense why I dont go over 4k often). The turbo is nearly brand new, I wanted a port and polished TDO4, so I bought one with 14k on it out of an '06 rex, PNP'd it, and installed it about 3k ago. All of the fluids are new. It has scotty's cocktail in the transmission as of 2.5k ago, and a set of perrin shifter bushings to smooth out the stock shifter. The car gets great gas mileage, I average around 25.5mpg, with half "city" (around base) and highway driving between here and Los Angeles. The interior is MINT. Everything is stock in there, and looks like its never even been used. I'm a non-smoker. When I carfaxed it before I bought it, there were no accidents on the record. I have had no incidents, other than snagging a pile of snow with it three weeks after I bought it with the front bumper. It tore the lip off, so I bought a new bumper and had it painted by the pros. Almost forgot: AC blows cold. All windows work. Hatch pistons work. The car has an STI catback painted flatblack. Has new exhaust gaskets, and perrin exhaust hangers to bring the exhaust up tight to the body. The car will come with a clean title, and registration clear up to next march, I just forked the $100 for it. I have a lot of receipts, including the tires and warranty from discount tire, the print off of the balancing, and the alignment. I have receipts for things like the timing belt, etc. Like I said, I'm just looking for if there is an interest. I need to pay the loan off before I leave the U.S. and can take a bit of a loss on the car, as I'll be banking for the next 3 years straight if I'm accepted to the program. Asking $5200, but we can negotiate A LITTLE. I'll get pics up tomorrow 'gents. You can look up pics of the car on here, just go to search, use PRA4SNO, and select video/picture forum. There should be some in there.
Also I could use advice as I havent had ANY time to spend looking at the subaru market lately. Is this a decent price? Considering I need to get pics up, I understand its hard to gauge.
That's about right for one like yours. My girlfriend was pricing out 02 wagons recently, and in poor shape they price around $4500, good shape around $6000. Yours is obviously not beat or in bad shape, the only concern I guess I would have is the fender. Sounds like an excellent excuse for a sedan front clip
Inexpesive price, VERY nice car! Jack takes care of his vehicles You looking at getting a newer subie??
I've been kicking myself every day for selling mine, and this one will fit the bill nicely. Hell, I'll even fly out to pick it up, I haven't had a good West Coast road trip in a while
Thanks for the words Tom! I wish I was bro, but fate would have it that I might have gotten MSG duty which places me overseas for the next 3 and a half years! I'll find out shortly. If not, I'll probably go carless for a few months while I wait for the deployment we have coming up this fall. I'd think about getting something nice when we get back. It looks like Brian is locked onto this, so at this time, The GI has gone to PENDING. lol. That went quicker than I ever expected, and I'm glad to have a good buyer lined up!
I said I would put pictures up today, and I will. Pics are on their way to the pending buyer, mr shorten. Ill also put up a few on here for reference.
The flight has been booked and the bank is getting everything together. As of next Saturday, it appears that I'll be back in a turbocharged wagon
The paperwork is signed and on it's way to Jack's bank along with a check. Sold! See you next Saturday Jack!
