that little fish wouldn't stand a chance. I'd jump on it's back and ride it like a little.....

Seriously though, I recently see a Myth Buster episode where they actually beat off sharks by punching them on the face!

    That's what i would do...jump in a punch it in the face!

Yes, actually punch them as hard as you can right in the nose. If not you go for the gills, or poke them in the eyes. Shark week wasn't too long ago and I was too lazy to get out of bed when I woke up at 4 in the afternoon.

No, actually it isn't. It's from an article about sharks off South Africa and apparently the shark would swim up behind, come up to the surface and look, then swim away and come back a few more times...very good article on them.

Here fishy fishy fishy...the article is a pretty good one, I would love to go to South Africa and watch them, especially seeing one of them leap out of the water. Just not into the boat...

oh it just look like it's in shallow, warm, tropical water. i thought mostly great whites live and swim in cold deep costal waters. but iam not a shark expert. maybe its a diffrent type of shark.? cool though... :)

If you read the article, they actually talk about some of the reasons they were finding them in shallow water. I think the current theory is that they use that area as a breeding/pupping ground, and there are fewer predators and easier food catches in shallow water. Sharks have been proven to be able to adapt to most kinds of water, in the same article they mention a shark named "Nicole" who was tagged and swam from Africa to Austraila and back in less than 9 months, dove to over 980 meters and was in water as cold as 3-4 degrees Celsius, and there are sharks that have even been found in fresh water areas. The other article is in the Snopes story and it's the original article. Both are pretty informative reads. Apparently some of the best shark watching in the world is about an hour outside of San Francisco around some islands referred to as the "Devils Teeth" or something to that effect.

back in AUstralia about 3 yrs ago they had a whale carcass that floated intot eh bay area near Melbourne... well there was about 10 white pointers (great whites) feeding off of it... people were driving their boats next to them and patting them on the nose as they were too full and they were floating slowly on top of the water...

then one guy jumped on top of the whale carcass while they were feeding and took his 3 yr old kid with him (No not Steve Irwin)... but it made the news and the authorities had to tow it out into deeper water to stop the idiots patting the sharks and jumping on the rotting carcass... the guy was lucky he never fell through..
