wow thats awsome. subaru should advertise that or something. but sadly enough that also makes the STi heavier.

true, guess it just makes STi cooler, cause it has extra wieght and extra safety but still can stay even w/ the evos

To me it is more like, WoW, Subaru's rollcage system is just that! A rollcage! Or everso close! That B-piller is your cage if you land on your mellon.

We were actually discussing this article a few weeks ago at the station when the article came out. There was talk of going out to see if they could cut the pillar out of my car, but I was able to switch discussion topics before they could get too far. It is pretty incredible that they're built that well. Our next extrication training night I'm going to see if we can get a newer Subaru to cut up, as I think it'd be good training for us to see if we've got anything in our inventory that'll do the trick. Our heavy rescue truck is equipped with the largest and most powerful Hurst tool (Jaws of Life) they make, and each of our trucks is equipped with a K12 saw (gas powered belt driven circular saw) that'll cut through pretty much anything out there, the downside being that it gives off a ton of sparks. The nice thing about Subaru's though is that of the serious accidents I've read about/heard firsthand about and the one that I walked away from, the doors have opened and closed normally which makes rescue much, much easier.
