I got a really bad cold. Sore back of the throat, congestion and cough. No fever though. anyone else has something like this?

had the flu many times... but never with these symptoms - sore throat, cough and congestion.. man you got something serious you had better go to Hospital and have surgery

I woke up last Thursday morning with a pretty good fever/body aches/cold sweats/chills and I've basically just been hacking up light green colored crap out of my lungs for the last few days. I had something similar to this about a week ago but I guess it came back for round two. Nothing more annoying than a cough after about the first 12-24 hours though. My philosophy with my immune system is "use it or lose it". :biggrin: -Steve
Get ready for 2-6 weeks of suffering. My whole familia went through it a couple months ago. I recommend booze, Nyquil and/or booze and Nyquil before bed. There is no remedy other than time.

y3ah im just getting over that exact same thing. cept i didnt have much of a cough at all cuz i made sure to spit out anything that would dry up in my throat. are your neck glands all swollen and in pain? mine were for the first 2 days and it sucked! i thought they were going to pop in my neck. and my throat was so soar that eatting anything felt like knives going down when i swallowed food. lasted about 8days for me. and i usually get over everything really fast. sorry to hear you got something
A few years ago I know there was some Tuberculosis going around in St. Paul. Heard it on the news, but then nothing after that. It was occurring at some school for young children who are new to this country. Maybe you got that?...
u can easily die from tuberculosis.... its a very serious thing. i really doubt thats the case. probably just a virus. whenever you get a sore throat its almost always the side affect of having some sort of virus in your body. your glands make antibodies which is why they get bigger. the number one symphtom that people complain about at the doctor is a sore throat. go get a throat culture if you can. it will help get you better because they can more likely figure out what you have and maybe give you something to speed up recovery. your probably going to be fine if you dont, but if its strep throat and you dont get it checked out, you can actually develop some serious heart valve issues that can be deadly in some cases.
One thing that can't hurt; do you like Honey? Supposedly, if you let the honey flow down your throat (try not to hastily swallow), a few times a day (more if you like honey), it coats the lining and covers the bacteria. This is supposed to shorten the life span of the bad bacteria you might have chillin' in your throat hole. I suggest Mel-O honey. It can't hurt, and it is one of the most natural sources of energy in nature. Mine as well. I took Dayquil so I wasn't totally out of it :laugh:. For the type of booze, prolly Jager Meister..... or hot100 w/ gold schlager :laugh: NO, DO NOT! If booze, stick with good 'ol wodka.
yeah glands are swalen pretty badly. I think I am feeling a bit better today. I had some stuff going on in my throat for a while had a throat culture and it said nothing. Went to a doctor and he said to get some *****ilin if I have a bacteria. So now I am taking that and some cold medicine. Really hope this goes away quick I want to finish the zuma and go riding.
What kind of doctor are you seeing again? I think you might want to see someone else, this guy sound like the type to molest you while you're under. "It's OK, this is part of the treatment!" "But doctor, I don't see why I need to be naked for a throat culture..." "Stop asking questions and take your medicine..." I used the P3nis-cillin line before. It's surprisingly successful.
LOL! That is hilarious. I totally spelled penicilin wrong and it got blocked. Funny. The doctor is my gf's grandpa, he is a dentist. Teeth and throat are pretty close. Btw, are there doctors in US that are focused just on ears-throat-nose? In Russia we have doctors that are just focused on that.

no, i got a throat culture a long time ago after my throat swell. and they did not find anything. Apparently i got Thrush because i used to much Listerine and it killed all the good bacteria in my mouth. I took some meds for it and it pretty much went away, but my throat was still kinda red and puffy. And now it started to hurt and swell again. So i guess i have some kinda bacteria in there. Hopefully Antibiotics will help with that. I am lucky i had my tonsils and adenoids removed a long time ago so when my throat hurts its not so bad.
ENT doctors are specialists in the Ear Nose Throat area. Yes, we have them too. And they're almost all licensed!!
Fantastic! I've been dosing myself with a good blast of Robotussin every night for the last week or so. I feel 100% fine, but I can tell my lung capacity is down because of all the crap in them when I work out, I'm definitely breathing a lot harder than usual. I'm usually a really fast healer so I'm hoping this will all be gone in a week or so. It's really not bad at all though, just some minor chest congestion and a cough. This is pretty typical for me whenever I get this kind of crud, it usually doesn't last too long. LOL @ the p3niscilin, who needs an injection? :laugh: -Steve
