I lost my first match ever.... but the guy had about enough fat rolls to make a 400 pound guy jealous... He weighed about 250-260 would be my guess... my cardio sucks but it was fun...

And curly I was gonna say the guy reminded me of you in clown pants... but that would have been toooooo mean.. hahaha cause you aint fat... this guy must have been 350+ at one stage and lost a lot of weight but his skin was still there... yep... I had to motorboat his belly... hahahah

I ended up getting in a bad position and decided dislocating my shoulder took away from the fact this was meant to be a fun event...

You had him in a really good spot, should have started working on getting your hooks in.You just left that leg too close to him for the sweep.

How long have you been doing it? You looked good, it was just that one mistake, but that's all it takes to lose a match. Grappling is hard as hell man, I couldn't even count how many times I lost because I put my hand or leg on the wrong place or turned the wrong way or just didn't see something.

I'm not sure part of his strategy wasn't to snuff you out with his flab. Heh.

I'd declare that fight a win for you. Your kids were proud, and trash talked that guy mercilessly. You're doing it right.

about 6mths and only 1-2 times per week.. too busy...

He was yelling to his corner that "He wont put his hooks in" I almost yelled.. "I would if my foot would get past the fat rolls!!" I tried once but my foot would NOT go in.. hahahah

I got too high... thats when I got shook off... his corner yells.. (you can hear it).. PUT YOUR BELLY ON HIS FACE!!! I saw it coming and thought.. OH MY GOD this is not happening... it was like motorboating a bowl of marshmallow.. hahah 2hrs and a shower later I could still smell sweaty skin

I pushed him off (when he launches) but cause off the thickness jello the first 6inches of movement was flab then by the time I started to move him I ran out of oomph...

It wasnt so much that I gave him my arm.. I saw what he was going for, an Americana so I grabbed my pants.. he couldnt get it.. but in the struggle to get free as I rolled and bucked, I FAILED to get a knee planted.. if I had've I would have been able to knee up and buck him off... during that rill is when my arm got caught under/behind me and his WEIGHT and MINE was on it (basically a weight forced omaplata hahaha it was then that I realized that this was a fun event for experience and why was I struggling to fight out of it and risk a shoulder dislocation... as it is it still hurts 3 weeks later... This week we learned the peruvian neck tie, which in the first 30 seconds if I had've known it the guy would have been tapped NO problem... oh well.. its all fun...

You seem obsessed with the loss and this guys body. Props to you for going out and doing this stuff and him for losing the weight, grappling and winning.

not sure what you are getting at... I was stating the facts which also happen to be first hand experience of the situation.. simple.. I know its kinda unusual on this forum... and I give the guy mad props for 1. Losing a lot of weight obviously (I have lost 15+ since starting), 2. for getting in there and going for it 3. He also came up to me afterwards outside of the ring and shook my hands (also apologized in a grunt sort of thing) because he walked out of the ring without shaking hands at first (its a family friendly event meant for fun and the experience).

YES I LOST.. guess what.. I LEARNED A LOT MORE from that loss than if I had of won.. simple theory in Martial Arts... try it. If you always win you dont think you have any weak spots.. unfortunately or fortunately I tap more times than I can count every night I train.. and to guys that are 145 pounds... oh sorry I mention a weight thing again... I learned that when in the action for real I reverted to how Id been trained (keeping in mind I have attended maybe 45 classes in 6mths (45mins each).. I instinctively went to his back.. I have never done wrestling or any other combat sport in my life EVAR!!! I also Instinctively looked for other positions without thinking, which was cool cause in training almost every time I get side control or full mount I cant remember a freaking thing to do next... brain farts... did I mention this guy had fat rolls... dont cry but it is true... ;)

and maybe the mentioning of his weight thing was to hide the fact I was glad I didnt get the guy who weighed in behind me... 275+ and wasnt so flabby.. oh and my usual training partner is 6'3" and weighed in at 295pds at the event previously... that is a workout.. hahah

and that wouldn't matter cause I weighed in at 226 so I am in heavyweight regardless... and Royce Gracie has proved technique over power anytime... Now if I can only figure out what that means hahah

oh and the next real cage fight event is this month

    http://savage-entertainment.com/events.php

and also in april another of these grappling events..
