Last night I was checking all the fluid in my car, and I notice my coolant was kinda low (right at the low mark) ......So, I filled it with the "green stuff" from prestone up to the full mark.

My question Is this green stuff ok for our car?? Or do I need the subaru oem coolant?

I also over filled the coolant a little bit b/c of the 50/50 mix. do I need to suck some out??

use a hydrometer to test it, just base it apoun the temperatures in MN. if you aren't too lazy, base it on summer temps but in the winter you'll haev to remix it. or if yu want it year round, just base it on MN temp(-35) and you'll be set. the coolant you used should be fine. the green stuff is convential stuff unless you get the extended life coolant which is also a universal coolant.

50/50 mix all year round is good.... Green is Good... if you have red form factory (which I dont think Subaru does) then FLUSH and I mean FLUSH the red stuff out and swap it to green.. the red eats internal seals etc over time... GM orif=ginally qouted it as lifetime coolant good for 100000 miles.. well NOT SO.. funny that....

but if coolant is low get a pressure test on teh system and see if you ahve a leak somewhere....
