I'm proud to announce that GrimmSpeed has a new teammate that will be our installer. Please congratulate Impreziv(Matt) on the new position!! What does this mean you ask?...well it means that we will now be able to do most Subaru installs from up pipes, downpipes, suspension, brakes, injectors, turbos, front mounts, and many others. Matt is very experienced when it comes to Subaru mechanics and comes from a racing family so i have complete faith in his abilities and so should you GrimmSpeed has a great central location in downtown st. paul so you wont have to go driving all over the cities just to get to our shop like you have to with most other shops that lay on the out skirts of the cities. We plan to have some install days in the future where you'll be able to get together with friends and get some of your power adders installed for discounted prices. Also, when you buy GrimmSpeed product we will do the install at a reduced rate. Again i'd like to welcome Impreziv to the team! Please help spread the word that we are now open for installations:yumyum::yumyum: Thanks!! Justin www.grimmspeed.com [email protected]
congrats on everything....and also...grimmspeed should hire someone to do the tuning after the install from matt...huh..??...
can ya send me a ballpark cost of installing some ss brake lines? I've been meaning to stop by and get some hood dampers and check out the place anyway. Oh and congrats on the new hire.
Bring it on!!! Gentlemen....About the only thing I have not had much experience with is merging harnesses, internal engine work and internal transmission work, other than that I am up for any challenge. If its a Subaru, we will get it done to a level above your satisfaction, this I promise. Give us a call, if only to have an explanation of our product line at what it means to you and your Subaru!! Also, I am a available when most of you are free......evening and weekends!!! PM me or call me!! Matt Homes 952.240.4001
so how much would a swap is about? and most importantly how long? also congrats Justin on the business!
excellent! matt is a cool guy, i bought an SAFC from him...yeah didnt work on my car either, LOL but cool guy either way
yeah i definitely can as soon as i get the numbers done. they should be done in the next few days. stainless steel brake lines shouldnt be to much, doesnt take that long. whenever you want :yumyum: i'm doing one right now thanks roc! i truly couldnt do it without my great team though(josh, evan, nuke, brian, matt) this is something that would take me a bit to find out total cost. thanks! i think the way we are going to do things is just set individual pricing per install item(ex. $xxx for clutch, $xxx suspension). However if you are doing multiple installs at once and they are closely related than the pricing would be different(for example if you wanted both and up and down pipe down we wouldnt charge the whole price for each install because you have to take the downpipe out anyways to get the up pipe out)
ok so i need to get a clutch dont and a timing belt...thought it'd be east for the belt since the engine comes out for the clutch...approx price???
can be either way. the old school guys usually prefer to pull the engine. but the extra complexity of the newer motors (especially turbo versions!) makes it the other way around.
crap!!! so it'd be harder to do my timing belt than i thought...well i'd still like to see a price on that
It can be done either way, honestly I would make the decision based on if there where any other items being done at the same time. Clutch only, I would prefer to drop the trans, but I can do it either way just as easily.
well we had someone(tom) that was supposed to start doing online maps sales for us but i dont know what happened to him
Sounds good!! Say did your ss brake lines come with new copper washers? I am sure they did, just want to make sure we have some fresh ones!!
sometimes it is better not to use new ones... they can leak... but not all the time.... (so my tech with 20+ years would say.... ) I have only seen it a handful of times over 3 yrs of brake work...
I am sure if you guys are doing brake work frequently you tend to see the exceptions. I have always used new washers on brakes lines and turbo oil fittings, and in only a few rare occasions have I seen leaks. But then again, I am not working on brakes every day either.
:biggthumpup:Big thumbs up for Matt and his installs I got some braided ss brake lines put in this afternoon and a whole bunch of new brake fluid(My leg will be tired tomorrow) I definately left as a satisfied customer. Once again thanks Matt and Justin(GrimmSpeed). -Ben
Thanks Ben, we finally found that air pocket!!! Ha, too bad it didn't want to leave the system sooner. Yeah, I am sure your right calf and thigh will be a little sore tomorrow, but its all for the better. Enjoy your new ss brake lines!!! Let us know if there is any thing else we can help you out with!
i just wanted to say thanks to all of you that have been getting installs from us over the past few weeks. we have been crazy busy trying to fit everyone to our odd schedule so thank you for bearing with us! Justin and the rest of the GrimmSpeed Team
