We're going to use this thread to post our dynos for our current project car. I also want to use this thread to show you the gains you should obtain with GrimmSpeed parts on a setup like this(wrx 2.0 engine).

The car is a 96 Impreza L with an 05 2.0 WRX swap. I put the engine/exhaust/intake together completely stock just so i could get the car running and work out any bugs before i start mod'ing the engine, etc.

Build thread can be found here:
    http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14941

We are using Data Log Lab(www.dataloglab.com) for all of our plots. We are using SAE correction so that way we can really get apples to apples numbers when we are taking pulls on different days. We are using this software solely for showing comparisons of before and after affects of mods/tuning.

Tuning wise we are using enginuity/ecuflash(www.enginuity.org). The enginuity site has been down for awhile but i spoke with owner of enginuity and he stated that it should be back up soon.

Well i just got done with a tune on the completely stock setup....
    STOCK: 168HP/174TQ
    STG1(no mods, just tune): 184HP/191TQ

So we are looking at gains of 16HP and 17TQ...not to shabby for some mild tuning. Boost peaks at 16.5psi and tapers to 12psi at redline. Of course i'm completely running out of injector around 5500rpm so i need to get some new injectors in there quickly.

I know it would be better to put it on the dyno after every mod so we can see afr's but we simply dont have the funds to be dyno'ing the car every few days. The newer road dyno'ing software is pretty accurate these days so i'm not to worried.

The base seems kinda low. Have you got other numbers from other stock cars using the same software?
    Gains are impresive thou.

base numbers are about spot on with the average dyno. remember, this is a 2.0 wrx not the 2.5.

"stock" meaning you are using all stock (3 cats) exhaust and intake piping, and the injectors that are maxing, are they stock WRX items as well?

I thought I heard you could max the injectors on the stock turbo, but at stage 1?

the injectors are to small from the factory...when you start tuning that makes it even worse. idcs at 5300 are between 102-108%. right now we are just having to taper boost off alot. trying to find some deatschwerks injectors asap.

really, wow... thats almost disappointing from Subaru in itself. I thought you could do a full stage 2 flash with the stock injectors tho...what are the injector sizes, IDCs, and pulses like on other years besides 05?

I just really want to see a before/after plot of a pnp coated e-mani with your nice crossover and a fairly aggressive setup. It may already exist, and if so, point me in that direction.

Deatschwerks does some good work. I've been running their SR20 650's for over a year without problems. I just wish I would have got the 8**cc set to begin with. I suggest you do the same.

this, i know my car runs like complete crap on any holiday gas at all... i had been told in the past that they use that soy based crap and add a few different things to their gas, neither of which i really have any intent on burning in my car.

yeah i want the 850's too but they are freaking $499. 750s are 399 so i might go with those, however if i'm going ewg i need all the injector i can get to keep that boost up so i might just have to flip for the 850s

So basically, this is a stock WRX with the GrimmSpeed Piping on it, and retuned?

oh, and 810cc Deatschwerks FTMFW! pretty sure I wont need to be upgrading them.

Damn, they must have raised their prices. Even still, it will save you money in the long run by getting the largerest injectors possible. Learn from my mistakes.

oo, interesting. SO I assume your going to put all your grimmspeeds stuff on it, and re-dyno it after that? I would be very interested it that, since i basically have a stock WRX with .2 more liters.

exactly. you will be able see every step of the way. pictures of the installs and what not will be in the main build thread and the power results will be here.

i'm just happy this guy is finally running. :)

turboback is going on asap(not grimmspeed stuff as we dont make a turboback) so we'll do some tuning for that and i'll put up the dynos for that as well.

"td04 instaboost monster... e85, ewg, and pnp madness."

Pretty much my end goal as well, though I won't be switching to e-85 until there is a station within 10 miles of me that sells it.

I am looking forward to this info. I don't think I'm going to have the money for the Turbo/tranny setup I really want for quite some time, so I want as much outta my TD04 as possible. The only turbo car i've driven is a bone stock WRX, and that was a blast, so I can't wait to see what I can get outta mine!

You can go to Stage II but your tune won't be very aggressive. The old fuel system is still the limiting factor. You run out of IDC long before anything else...
