On some other sites I've seen GT4 threads and how they have somewhat of a contest to see who is best at certain courses on GT4. I think we should have one. RULES -All challenges are to be conducted in Arcade mode "time trial" -All challenges are to be conducted with no driving aids, and your choice of tires, with no modifications to the vehicle's power or weight. The reason for this is to keep simplicity in what might become a large thread as well as reducing the chance for misunderstanding between two people competing on the same challenge resulting from differing vehicle conditions. -You may use the transmission of your choice(AT or MT). -In order to post a challenge, you must specify the track and exact make, model and year of the car you completed the challenge in. Additionally, you must first complete the challenge yourself and post a photo or your time. -After the initial challenge is issued, challengers may make text posts of their times approaching the best time. However, in order for a new best time to be recognized, a photo of the time is required. I recognize that it is possible to photoshop a perfect looking false time, but the primary reason for requiring photos is to make it easy to skim for challenges that are getting beaten, instead of having to read through all the 2nd and 3rd place times. -As I alluded to before, we are relying on the honor system here. If you can't beat a time, then just keep practicing, don't cheat. Cheating just muddies the waters, and it's not rewarding at all to the cheater, either. So, for example. Laguna Seca in a Honda NSX-Type-R My best time (so far, I just decided to start this) is 1'37.374 Now, if you beat the time with the same car you must post a picture. If you get a little slower and that's the best you can do, just tell us because we don't need a picture unless you beat a previous best. Sound good? go for it!

I have my own challenge, but that's for a later time. Where is the arcade mode for GT4? I've looked before but can't find it. do i load the game without a memory card? doesn't matter much since I don't have a camera to take a screen shot...
You can load it with a memory card, you just have to exit from where the game starts. Try hitting triangle in the screen where you pick either the garage, the race courses, etc... Then you should see it. Sorry about the whole digital camera thing. Since we're all friends here and it is based on trust, I'm sure you could just post it up there and be totally honest about it. But if you have a digicam, I suggest it because then people can see the pictures and know when a previous time was beaten.
Also, I think we should make this more organized. Like a weekly thing. Everyweek we have a 'Best Lap Challenge.' The winner of the previous week's challenge gets to choose the car and the track. Like was mentioned above, keep the tires and the setting the same. Then we all post our best times. The person at the end of the week with the best lap wins and the cycle begins anew. We can start your challenge tomorrow, that way they always end on Fridays so we can gloat about it at Firestone.
I think that sounds good. So do the nsx-r one for now, and on Friday, the winner picks a new one! I think we should allow a choice of tire, or just make the choice always the best tire available. Or, the winner choses the tire So I could pick economy's if I won and make it sort of a drifting comp. :lol:

but how are we gonna know if the car has any different suspension setups? we should allow the suspension to be fully or even semi racing cusomtized to see who can set up cars the best.....edit...i forgot that this was for arcade mode, nevermind! :lol:
That's why you post a picture of the time beat, in the screen like my last one where you can see tires, hp, weight, course, and car
Awww... it's not too hard, you pick the track, pick the car (from the normal stock setup cars), put on soft tires, and go. Someone has to have beaten my time by now! Come on people! It's a Saturday, what else are you going to do?
You are using the honda nsx type-r with soft tires right? I tried with the acura version and couldn't get any lower than a 1'39. Thanks for playing though, I'm sure somebody will beat that time, it's not exceptionally great, but I'm positive it can be done faster
got a 1'36'069, but no visual proof. sorry :? I think I could have improved on it but it's bed time. maybe tomorrow.
jeesh.....I was using the right car, tried it a few more times today, reliably got 1:37 or so, one that was down in the 1:36's, but you still beat me....
sorry I'll get it lower by the end of the week, I don't know if a 1'34 is possible, but it might be able to be done Take a look at what tires I used for this one :lol:
Since there are only a few people really interested in this, do we want to start a new course and car? How about el capitan with the advan impreza? I just ran one run on it with super soft tires and got a 1'42.138. I won't bother posting the picture because it will be beat for sure so go... go and post pictures of better times
dangit, I didn't see Advan in any of the names, but I saw it on the front bumper of this one.....DOH and it took me like 5 laps to get it down that far....I probably don't have a chance (or the patience) to get that again in a different car.....
Well, try that impreza and just see how you do. That was my first lap, I haven't tried to make it any faster because it's no fun beating up on people :lol:
