Beyond a chop, completely computer generated. Compare the first two pics, the backgrounds are identical.
I've always wondered where i can buy a $150,000 version of a $22,000 car... Its the answer to a question nobody is asking.
seen it on autoblog yesterday. I have it set as my new wallpaper. I think the thing is sick. I love the concept and body. I think they should at least release a body kit similar to that from the factory The annoying part is all the VW fans claiming their car's dominance. They don't realize that car will NEVER be built. Its like Impala driver's claiming their cars are the same as a NASCAR or F150 drivers claiming they have the same thing as a Monster truck.
there's a vid. Don't know how you guys thinks its a chop... Page: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/17/worthersee-2007-vw-shows-off-monster-golf-gti-w12-650-concept/ Vid:
Plainly put any car company in the world can make a car like this. Renault already did it, twice... The clie v6 and its predecessor the R5 Turbo (both two of the sweetest cars ever) All you need to do is use the biggest engine you can make and shoehorn it into the back of your compact hatch, then put a large widebody kit on the rear end. The reason nobody does it is because to date only Renault has had the balls to sell a useless hatchback that is way too fast and steers like a nervous chihuahua. And then there's finding people willing to pay $100k+ for them...
The pics of the car on the track are generated. That doesn't mean they never made the car or that the car isn't real, just that those pics aren't real... Here's the first two pics superimposed on each other, the backgrounds are a pixel to pixel match. Nothing in the background moves and the skid marks on the track don't even change.
^ lol you made it into a minivan. i am pretty sure this is the coolest thing that VW has ever done, but even still it is a VW. did you notice in teh video how the smoke started to roll out of the thing right as they pulled the curtain off it? The renault Clio V6 and the R5 are amazing cars, and are dead sexy. there is just something to be said for the uber widebody, 2 door hatchback with oodles of HP (subaru take note).
That's the first thing I thought of when I opened the link! But I'm a sucker for hatchbacks and I thought the thing looked pretty slick too. That thing is never going to happen.
those wheels look like crap, and what are the chances that when you turn the wheels you keep going in a straight line...understeer anyone
