i was into WoW for a while, but i quit cause i am too busy and dont wanna pay $15 a month (when i cant get my onies worth). i never really got into GW. although i still keep an interest in Diablo2 (not realy a mmo) and shattered galaxy is still around, but i havent played that for years.
ffxi I was on ffxi online for the longest time.... But got bored when i got so many jobs maxed /sigh... it just takes way too much time for those games... and you need six people or more to do anything and people alway begging for help with something for themselves.... And the price of everything was so expensive.. you almost had to buy gil to keep up with everyone else... cause you didn't have the time to make gil... That why i quit those kind of games...sorry didn't mean to B_tch and moan...
lol, i was in the same position, I quit more than a year ago. It just was more work than fun once I got my favorite jobs to high levels. Once people started needing me to schedult time out of my week to do things i said screw this. I should just sell my character and get some money back out of the damn thing. I am permanently sworn off of mmorpgs. they're incompatible with having a realistic social life, or at least they were for me.
My friend is currently falling victim to that exact situation playing the MMORPG lineage 2. He is friggin addicted to it. He has passed up multiple nights to come out now and even started slacking on his work at school
I retired from Everquest as a permanent-level-51 bard (had a necromancer sacrifice me back down each time I hit 52). I was pretty bored with the whole "sword&sorcery" thing. I kept saying "dammit, why doesn't someone come out with an MMORPG game like this, but set in a postapocalypse wasteland, with CARS and GUNS, like MadMax / RoadWarrior ?!?". Well, someone finally did, so I've been playing a lot of Auto Assault.
I have dabbled in quite a few different MMO's Nexus online, WoW, and Guild Wars al at seperate times. I quit WoW because you needed to devote to much time to it, and while i like Guild Wars, you get what you pay for. ME and a freind got it together and within a month had maxed out chars, with maxed out gear and had basically mastered the game. MMO's are fun but i would have to agree, they are too time consuming.
umm.. yeah i said that a while ago too.... then i got hooked into WoW. i got really hooked into Shatterred Galaxy a few years ago (before i could drive). i put WAY too many hours into that game. and i mean WAAAYYYYYY!!!!!! too many. i found it kinda cool when they had a day where everyone could play for free, and i logged into my char. (maybe 1-2yrs) after i quit. it was awesome my units were still ROCKING everyone even though i hadnt touched em in 1-2yrs. hehe suckers. hmm..... i wonder if my account is still there, maybe i should go back...........
i got myself caught up in guild wars last year when it first came out, then it was on to maplestory, now back to guild wars..
see thats the best part of it. SG is now free. just you dont get the full experience of it (lose 10% xp and $$) if my account is still there........
SG is cool, but i just cant do Guild Wars anymore. I mean i mastered that game in a month. It wasnt any fun. Im very excited about an upcoming MMO. Its called The Chronicles of Spellborn or TCOS. It uses the unreal 2.5 engine and combat while similar to guild wars will also be handled like a first person shooter. So imagine Oblivion crossed with Guild Wars, crossed with WOW. Check it out. www.tcos.com
not an MMO but bethesda just announced they got the rights for the next "Fallout" game. they already started developement. they are suposedly usign teh same engien from oblivion. apparently black isle still has the rights to the announced MMO of fallout. and on slightly other non mmo news C&C 3 ----> FTW!
