I'm looking at going through my brakes on my daily driver '02 WRX. I am going to buy new rotors and pads and flush the lines.

I have convinced myself that the larger H6 rotors are the way to go for the additional rear bias they offer. I am going to throw the dice with cheap import rotors from autozoo. The H6 rotors are actually cheaper than the WRX rotors and the H6 brackets are only $120.

I am stuck on what to get for pads. Because this is a daily driver I want moderate life, no noise, low dust pads. Basically an OEM style pad. Because I am a cheap bastard and have 1000 different hobbies to dump my money into I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with a cheaper than OEM pad with similar or better performance.

I know I will get the question, "Why bother with the H6 rotors and then go with a cheap OEM style pad?" Because you gain more rear bias, my logic is that pads being equal a car without the H6 rotors will stop slower than a car with H6 rotors.

Also, what is a suggested brake fluid you have had good luck with?

    Appreciate the help guys.

You could also go with an old turbo legacy setup, they have vented rear rotors. I am using ATB Superblue at the moment, its great when you bleed the entire system because you can see the color change and know when the old fluid is out. I also have a can of gold for my next fluid change.

Call Mark from Deversified (frozenrotors.com). He can get you the MNSubaru discount on pads and fluid (rotors also). His rotors are a bit more than the cheap-o napa ones, but will probably outlast the car.

Ordered everything today. I went with PBR Metal Master pads which are an upgraded OEM style pad. I used these pads before and they are ok for the money. No noise and a little better than OEM pads. And I got import rotors.
