nah, it's all for fun, there wouldn't be any damage done by doing that. They messed with what we love. I've done the whole, "just ignore them" game and it's more fun to goof around with them and tell them what we think

I assume they're both banned. Why would someone hack into a forum like this one? I mean, what's the benefit? It just makes it harder for the rest of us.

I'd love to introduce their cars to the Hurst tool I have at the station and give them a couple of roadsters. I'll even give them some "speed holes" with a Halligan bar. What a couple of tools. I already had a big Taco Bell lunch, I'll donate my next big crapola...I have a feeling it'll be a bad one.

The lack of what should be common sense is this day in age is astonishing. You all know that mnsubaru.com has been compromised. So what does that mean?

You should ASSUME that all information from that database has been stolen and is now in the hands of someone you DO NOT TRUST. This includes your email address, aim, password…

    So what?
Well, do you have a paypal account tied to your email address?
Do you use the same password for several websites including your banks, paypal, or any other websites?

Sure, the passwords are encrypted using sha256, but it's not full proof (no encryption is). A simple brute force algorithm can crack most of the passwords that are probably used on this website.

In conclusion: blame the "hackers" all you want, in the end it was laziness that got your website compromised.

So are you saying they could have passwords to our e-mail and messenger that is linked with mnsubaru, or just that they have the password to our mnsubaru log in?

Basically they hacked into the database. If your passwords to other sites are the same as your mnsubaru password, then they have it. Once a site has been hacked like this, it would be in *YOUR* best intrest to change your passwaods and such to protect yourself.

As for the laziness part, the site software has not been updated lately, so we were running a older version that was more prone to getting hacked.

Just because you don't have money now doesn't mean that they won't monitor your account to see when you do. Plus your social security number is tied to your bank accounts!

^^^^ Exactly. I don't know what they got out of the database. They might not have taken anything, but are you willing to take that chance? Who knows, maybe they just grabbed all the e-mail address's and sold them to spammers.

Well, any internet savvy person should use dupe accounts for sites like these and then have your main Email just for certain personall things.

I know I have atleast 4 email accounts I use for different things. 1 for internet forums, 1 for internet vendors, 1 for friends/family and 1 from my bank, CC, Cell Phone any billing I do over the bank goes to that.

Obviously you should use different passwords for all accounts. Really, all of my personall financial accounts have different usernames and passwords. But for forums I don't. They're all linked to a crap email address anyway and all have apassword I only use for forums. Its more of a PITA to remember, but its security.

The best thing to do is just see if you can login to every passworded site that you know of that has the same password as this and simply change it. I use easy to remember passwords for forums and tough ones only for banking and personal email accounts etc.

I would not consider reusing the password you used to use here for anything else that could be tracked to you.
