Pic is a little low def to name the back few for sure. But I think I can. lol Looks like you had fun.
Not anymore. No more Skylines will be imported. HOWEVER, Ex-Post-Facto. It was imported and licensed before it was illegal, that one remains legal for life. I'm glad to see he drives it. Good.
hmmm STI, supra, G35, Skyline R34, Mustang (Mach 1), 350Z with some cool kind of tail lights, EVO, STI, and cant really tell what the last one is...but is it cheating that i saw all of them pretty much at subway before you got there?! :/ haha. ooo and with maurice leading the pack?! haha
i see a mach 1 but no cobra...other then that this list looks good. I cant see the very last car though...
maurice has no car I lead the pack... but it was good times to see all the kids glued to the side of there cars when they saw the skyline.. it's like all the rest of the nice cars vanished... lol. skyline = not all its cracked up to be... personal opinion.
Agreed, but it can be amazing if enough money is put into it. For years I thought they were bigger until I sat in one.
ooo no its really not, he says it costs to much money to mod it out and everything...theres always an excuse haha. and maurice never has a car haha! what car where you in by the way!?
blue 06 sti I met up after subway - chipotle -edit- oh it has some money into it.. I'm just not a huge fan. I would rather own an R8 or a Tesla... style / comfort over status
Owning a skyline in the US = insta-fame, if it were as common as say STIs or EVOs in the states it obviously wouldn't be all that. Performance wise, all those rides are beasts. Very nice photo btw, looks like it was fun as hell, better than my sunday @ least
EVERYONE IN HERE Is A NOOB! how on earth can car guys mistake a R33 to be an R34. Taras fails double for calling it an R35. skylines are not all that fast stock.....they can be tuned to be amazing, but what car cant? with money any car can get up and go. last i herd John O's skyline was close to stock and in my opinion is a shame because he riced the piss out of it. under glow. how fast and furious. his cobra is nicer
I forgot where I heard of Bryan Spillner, but knew it was familiar. I got a lol @ the MySpace page http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=3787039
so just out of curiosity...who was the one with the blue sti at the apple valley subway? just so i know from now on haha
Yup only a few R34s are legal basically because whatever that company was that imported them scammed NHTSA/DOT/EPA as much as the owners, and the feds made a rare showing of sympathy. Many more R34s in the US however, are here illegally and are subject to crushing at any time. (I can't speak to that exact car) R33s can be legally imported but no importer will deal with them because of the taint (heh) from the skyline scandal.
if the skyline guy is the same one that goes down to midway sometimes, he is a choad. otherwise neat cars!
he doesnt know how to do a car right. i mean yeah we all have diff personal tastes....but his is wayyyy flashy. and for the money he obviously has available (owning a GTR r33 and a high HP mustang cobra convertable) he could be making some mean street monsters. but he rices the car out with underglow, way huge black blingn wheels, and other such flashy ricer moves. hes not a bad guy though. just a little confused as to what a nice car should be. he should have that skyline over 500whp by now... tisk
google motorex and spend the next few weeks reading... basically, as I remember/understand it, they imported and sold skylines in the late 90's but only crash tested and fully filled out the documentation for the R33. They used documents for the R33 for R32's/R34's. Lots of other rumors flying around about unethical business practices and generally shady behavior, including attempted kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon over allegedly stolen cars... but in the end if you bought an R32/34 from them before the whole scandal went down, you are clear. However, you can't import and use a R32/R34 as a street car until proper crash testing/documentation goes through. I'm not sure on the legality of importing an R33 privately, or what all is involved, but I believe companies such as motorex still can... but as mentioned, most don't. edit: also google Hiro Nanahoshi
actualy i think the R32 is also a legal car. ive seen a few here in the midwest. and you can buy them through canada too. go on craigslist and look for skylines in canada. they have tons of GTR, GTS, and GTS-T r32's for sale up there and i believe are legal for import into the US. i think the whole Investigation issue was over the R34 generation of skyline. Its a shame that the FBI wont let it become legal for lame reasons. its been long enough where they could kill off some of the bad vibes with the skyline imports by making them more available by import. thus making the car less rare and less subjective to theft. if people know knew how not crazy they are stock.... its just like if STis werent so common, or even the supra.
Those imported prior to March 2006 or whenever it all went down. According to this: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/newsletters/news027.html "After considering comments received in response to the notice of tentative decision, on March 1, 2006, the agency published in the Federal Register a final decision to rescind import eligibility for the models and model years at issue. As a result of that decision, only R33 model Nissan Skyline vehicles manufactured between January 1996 and June 1998 remain eligible for importation. All other model and model year vehicles admissible under the prior decision are no longer eligible for importation."
