Anyone interested in caravaning up? We do this for cannon falls with good success. Anyway, post up if interested and we can pick a time and place EDIT Location is here http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...16716&t=h&z=16 parking lot east of 94, south of weaver lake road. Have your frs radios set to channel 8. We will leave promptly at 8am. 1. Carl 2. Joel 3. Dave 4. Russ 5. Emily 6. Dan 7. Andrew
Yeah, we could meet up somewhere around Maple Grove. I don't know a good spot around there I guess. But, meet at 8am? or leave by 8am? It takes about an hour I think.
Dang, I should have kept my hotel reservation for Maple Grove. Staying in Milaca now, so I'll see you folks at the event.
I am in. I am coming from the other side of the globe, so I will need to leave pretty early. Time and place and I will be there. Russ
You are welcome to run as many practice laps as you want. However, you don't get to drive any. It'll be a decently long course, so I hope you're in a lot better shape than me
haha,, that would remind me too much of cross country in high school where I would imagine getting to drive on the golf courses that we had the races at. Anyway, for location, there appears to be a large parking lot at 94 and weaver lake road. (just east of 94, south of weaver lake road). Looks like a JCPenny parking lot, with a gas station nearby. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...183,-93.454878&spn=0.011162,0.016716&t=h&z=16 How's that for a meeting spot?
added you dan. yes, tips for dave lol. i bet emily could use some tips too. umm, brake pedal - use it all the time. come to a complete stop at all gates to check for cross traffic. if the cone is orange, you should hit it. drive the course in 3rd, it will save you fuel. slalom is only a suggestion, straight works just as well. do a burnout.
Russ, if you pick up a EZ UP before Sunday you should bring it with. It sounds like we're going to get rained on.
I live just on the other side of 94 FYI that big parking lot is a JC Penny. There is a BK just down the street in case anyone wants delicious crossanwiches
Kinda planned on it. Also, do I need to bring tires?? If not, I am driving the car. 30+mpg is way better than 18. Russ
Dan, stop it!!! You're just upset because my car is faster than yours....(yes yes...in a straight line) I don't need any pointers on the course, I already came to terms with fighting Emily for last place:biggrin:
Sweet! A fellow CC'r... dem were the days! We'll see everyone up there!! I couldn't get the super awsome suspension in the Duster, but I'll be the fastest bobble-head car out there!!! Mark H. Please no slaloms!!! I love them, but the car HATES them!!!
I love slaloms, but I've never done them in the loose gravel. I'll be stationed in St Paul this weekend, maybe I can break away and stopby and finally get the opportunity to see what a Rally Cross is all about. Will there be another pick up station in St Paul since its on the way?
St. Paul really isn't on the way. But from there you could take 10 NW to Elk River and join up with 169 North which would take you there.
ok, added you andrew and yea, cheech st. paul is not on the way at all. you're thinking about when we have it at canon falls - this is north towards st. cloud
Tent has been picked up. I cleared off 8gigs worth of memory cards and the batteries are charged. I will see everyone in the morning. Be at the lot around 7:30ish and leave at 8?? Russ
dude go to bed. RallyCross early...need sleep....we will be leaving Anoka at 8:00 a.m. probably will be just ahead of you, depending on which way we go. Carrie
sleeping will happen soon. I won't be waking up any earlier than I do for work and the car is already packed up!
ha ha ah.. well I was talking to Wagner to see if he was going but he is busy so that kinda took the thought out for a bit... I like mud.. hmm maybe I will go to my house and play... call me tomorrow Bill maybe we can go get dirty... oh and take our cars too
now if only the damn cookies would get done baking...then I could get to bed! mmmm....cookies...good....worth the lack of sleep What channel FRS for Caravan...in case we happen upon you? We will likely be running MN Rally Frequency (147.570 on the 2 meter)
If the awards would just get finished, I could get to bed! I was hoping to re-ruse my wiring harness from NT1 to put the HAM in the truck, but I found it, and I cannibalized the connectors earlier (probably for the CB radio, which also isn't installed), so no distance radio for me, 'cause it's too late to crimp up a new set of powerpoles.
