I'll Cliff note for people who want it in brief..

In August of 2k8 i bought a 56" Samsung DLP Television from the at the time, very much alive at the time Circuit City in the area. managed to negotiate, and the sales guy managed to throw in delivery and a warranty to match some online pricing i had found.

I loved the TV, picture was beautiful, Gorgeous blacks, and the size was great... for a while..

In november, it developed a black spot in the upper right hand corner. Damn. oh well, it's under warranty, they shouldn't fight me too much on this, right?

4 Service calls and 3 months later, the technician that was under instruction from Samsung, disassembles the entire mirror assembly on my living room floor, installs some new parts, and knocks the whole thing so far out of alignment they can't fix it.

I called Samsung directly looking for some resolution.
It Took them 2 weeks of arguing to even get them to offer me an exchange, another week and a half before they offered me a 46" LCD as a replacement which i denied... we argued back and forth on a replacement, and now the supervisor i've requested to speak to, Will not call me back when his reps promise, and will not answer the phone or return my messages.

There's alot more details in the blog i've been using to keep track of things in the past few weeks.

So i ask, has anyone else had as much of a poor customer service experience with Samsung as i am having? anyone have any insights? Inside contacts?

    There. Or here. Sometimes both.
    Incorrect. DLP = win.

    Just not in this instance...

I fix tv's for a living and I have never heard of anyone getting that poor of treatment from samsung. they are usually a very great company that takes pride in taking care of their customers.

can you post pics of what the tv looks like now??? Tv's are always fixable, it is just a matter of how many parts it is going to take. do you have a copy of the work order from the tech that came out? what company came out?

The TV was knocked crazy out of alignment when the tech tried to replace the light tunnel on my living room floor.

The TV is gone now, it was drug back to Television Service labs contracted by samsung where they tried to service it on a bench with no luck either.

In my dealings with samsung, when they authorized my exchange, they ceased all work on the television. doesn't pay to try and fix it for them and replace it, right?

I have pictures of the tech, and the work he was doing, but not a final out of alignment picture.
    Pictures are tied here: http://samsungsmagicact.wordpress.c...h-service-trip-and-the-last-time-i-saw-my-tv/

You basically described the exact situation my step-dad was in last summer. Except they broke it so bad, they had to take it with them for 3 weeks. Then when they brought it back, they got a finger print on the mirrors. Very visible on screen. Another 3 weeks later, it was fixed.

Samsung says the whole engine is not available for this model.
I heard the whole conversation when tom put the Samsung Tech Support Rep on his cell's speakerphone.

i still haven't heard anything from samsung... 2 weeks later.
there's a guy on MNSC who's relative works with samsung as a regional rep, and he's supposedly contacting him, but i haven't heard anything yet.

I've found everything i need to sue them, and have all the paperwork on my desk... i just can't exactly decide on how much to sue them for :)

what tv shop did they use?

The tv is under samsung warranty since they are replacing it. tv service labs is new to fixing samsung, because when I worked there they were not authorized and when I stopped in about a year ago they still were not authorized.

What should of happened is the part should of been requested, they say that part is not available. tvsl says then it needs to be replaced.

I have gotten 3 tvs replaced for customers doing that. the whole process is about 3-4 weeks.
