had to call cops today. I was driving on Lexington near university and this guy on a giant yukon(sp) was tailing me, I was in a left lane half a car away from the car in front of me. He moved to the right lane and the person in front of him slowed down so he slammed back into the left lane cutting me off badly. So I moved to the right lane to go around him but he would not let me and brake checked me. So I went back to the left lane and he kept doing this ****. So I managed to get in front of him. At the next light he went onto the curb to cut me off on the huge intersection and when the light turned green he was going to get out of the car and come "talk" to me. So I called the cops and told them what happened and the discription and plates of the car. Have you guys ever called cops like that?
yea, one day I was delivering last fall, and was going ~35 in a 30mph residential area, and got passed like I was stopped by some Dbag in a GTi. double yellow line, blind hill, kids playing 15 feet from the road. the absolute stupidest place to pull that crap. I came up over the hill, and saw him pulling into a dead-end development. so I followed, saw the car parked in one of the driveways, so I stopped, and called the cops. gave them the address and license plate number. It was pretty funny, the kid that was driving must have noticed me, cause he stepped out of the house and waved......just as the cops pulled up  Too bad we were busy, I couldn't stay and see what happened.
I find that by pulling out my gun it usually resolves the situation one way or another... Seriously though, I've never had to call in a road rage incident. Drunk drivers, yes. Unsafe drivers, yes. Road ragers, no. I'll usually disengage myself from a situation before it gets to that point. Road rage usually takes two people to escalate. Having said that, I'm wondering what you did (if anything) to help the situation along or what you did to try and defuse it.
I don't know why but it's always the either a Prius or a Suv/Truck tail-gating me. That's where a bov + catless is useful. FIRE!
i called on a guy that DID get out of his car and come yell at me we were driving on a county road, 45 MPH zone doing 25 and I was 2 or 3 seconds behind him still, when my turn lane opened up to turn left i took it and he was pissy and started driving really recklessly and got in front of me and stopped. my wife called the cops while i backed up to go around him. there is now a warrant out for this guy because he disrupted traffic and got out of his car on a public roadway i too want fire for tailgaters
that give me flash back when I had my RS. Yang and illegal2.2 was riding with me that one snowing night going towards 100N exit 94. And a suv pushed us off the road end up into the ditch and nearly hit the light pole. They don't even coming back that we are ok or what not.... ****ing arsehat
Oh that's too funny... since we're on this subject here's one that will make you think...and it just happened this week. On Tuesday am on 494 East by 169 I was in the right lane and driving about 65 or so. the road was full of traffic, but not too congested. I noticed in my mirror I had a huge SUV real close. I went along my way...a few second later I checked my mirror again to see this shiny new SUV even closer. So, I taped my brakes a couple times to give this driver the heads up they were too close to my rear bumper....still going about 65 or so. By the time I reached the Bush lake road exit this suv was practically in my trunk so I hit my brakes pretty hard. (not wise to do mind you), but at that point I was frustrated with this giant truck riding my butt. Well, hitting the brakes made the SUV driver slam on his brakes (Yup, I think he finally realized that 65 mph + 5 feet of clearance between cars was too close). So what do I see after his tires were done squealing? Cop lights.......The jerk was a undercover cop!!! He pulled into the middle lane a gunned it and came right next to me shaking his finger at me and yelling....with his lights still on. I was so surprised and shocked that my heart was going a million miles an hour and I thought for sure I was going to be pulled over by this ass. But my instant reaction was to shake my finger back at him and I waved my cellphone at him. The jerk proceeded to accelerate and take off. WTF!?!??! He was a cop!!!!!!!!!!!!! FYI- He was driving a grayish SUV, brand new, lights in the grill (IIRC), and he was wearing a regular blue police uniform.
Sadly if the cop would have rear-ended you they would have somehow made it into your fault. I personally have found cops to be terrible drivers. To answer the original question - yes, I have called on road rage drivers many times.
After reading through your post Taras looks like you kinda provoked him a bit by insisting on passing him. When people drive like d-bags and insist on being ahead of me I just let em pass by.
Just today I was heading to work on 55 going E. through Rockford. Well 55 goes from 4 lanes to 2 right as you go through Rockford. So at the last light that just turned green, there is a line of cars in the left lane waiting on this semi to get up to speed. So I merge to the right lane to pass all the people who are going 5mph, i'm about 45mph in a 50 at this time. I have a 1/4 mile untill my lane merges over into the left and the way there crawling it will be no problem to shoot by all of them. So I'm going along and see the semi that is leading the pack is starting to pick up speed, but I have plenty of room between him and the time I need to be merged into the left. So I keep going. So then this prick in the semi starts to come into my right lane to cut me off. He has no business even being in my lane as it will take you right into the gravel shoulder if you keep going straight. ******* makes me hit the gravel shoulder to get around him. As soon as I do I promptly stick my hand out my window and flick the guy off. It was totally uncalled for. I had plenty of room to make it by this jerk and he decides he's king of the road and cock block me. POS
I was sitting at a red light with a very eager/impatient soccer mom next to me.. slowly creeping through the intersection, she managed a car length before the light turned green and she flew down the 35 mph road at WELL over. I called the cops and saw her sitting at another red light as I pulled along side her again. Got off the phone before the light turned so I tried to say something but they wouldn't roll down their window :ugh: She became a victim of my patented 'whose in your blind spot?' game. uncomfortably sat on her passenger rear quarter panel speed matching in the lowest gear I could, for the most dramatic effect. She knew i was there and could see me trying to flag her to slow down but she wouldn't Luckily she did want to get over, and since trying to speed up was failing she tried slowing down. She got behind me and I quickly took us down to the speed limit, with her angry tailgating self behind me shaking fists and flashing brights :eek4: As we where yielding for the right turn I noticed a local cruiser quickly coming towards us from the other side of traffic but they where in the straight lane All fine and dandy though because once it was clear to turn and she turned slowly behind me the cop turned on his lights and came out into traffic and pulled her over! CALL THE COPS ON THEM, usually ftw, and only takes like 2 minutes.
I am sure taras trying to get past him again had nothing to do with the situation getting worse... this is exactly why they say.. slow down and let them go... you are at fault as much as the retard
Was it a Durango? I saw an unmarked SUV that color on Hi 5 a few days ago. Your story is messed up though! Ive never called the cops, but im pretty sure someones called on me! I was younger and more reckless back then.
