If you go to the front page of Nasioc there is a pic of a subie with those huge rally light thingies on the car. What are they called and where can I get them?

"2002-03 WRX twin light pods -2 lamp ea (fiberglass) $350 ea"

(Bugeyes use two pods, one on each side to allow air into the scoop, 04+ can use a single pod to mount 4 lights and still flow to the I/C).

    That's just the pods.

Half decent lights to fit the pods start about $100 each, plus $50 for the mounting rings.

So, $1,300 will get you a nice basic set of lights . . .

    Thanks for the info!
I think that will go on my list of "I want" not "I need"!

I'm not convinced RallyInnovations is still around. Some people list their products, but the corporate web site is gone and has been gone for at least a month.

Anyhow, their light bar for $270 seems a bit ridiculous. It's Ok, and not super weak, but I think ScandiaWRX has one and she's had to do some mods to A) relocate the license plate (a cop hgassled her because the bar blocks the plate), and B) add some brackets to attach to the stock license plate area to keep the bar from bouncing too much. For $270 a pop for a little bit of welded tubing and a powdercoat, you think they could do those things stock.

Oh, and I didn't explain fully about the pods. The light setup on the rally car at NASIOC (Travis Pastrana's) with the pods, probably runs about $10k. 6 HID rally lights (4 in main pod, two in fog locations) at $1k+ each, and easily another $4k in carbon fiber/kevlar for the pods.

You can build a good set of rally-capable lights for closer to $1k as I originally wrote, but it is of course, possible to stick some driving lights on a bar for a lot cheaper.

If you search, I think mlgez posted up pics and a description of the nice bar that Mike (LegacyPGT) and he put together for his STi.
