    As the title says...

these were bought from a Ford dealership a while back on a whim...

I have tried researching this model and anything remotely like it isnt as as solidly built.. (they start at $445 or so)

Yes you can get em cheaper but try to get ones as solid as this.. Go to Harbor freight if you want a $90 engine hoist. :hsugh:

"They" aren't. But then again, looks like you could safely lift an entire subaru with that rig. my cheapass hoist does well, but the most it's ever seen was the yota 4-cyl and 5MT, which I doubt was even 200lbs.

That thing is beefy. looks like someone got in there with a welder and some serious steel and reinforced the base.

its how it comes.. the hoist is a rotunda hoist primarily used to pull Diesel engines.. they kinda weigh a little more than a 4cyl toyota motor...

That thing is designed to extend the lifting arm, and all 4 legs to widen the stance for stability...

here is an example of a cheaper style for those who seem to know it all...

http://www.toolfetch.com/Category/Shop_Equipment/Engine_Hoists/106200.htm similar design but pretty pissy looking even at 2 Tonne capacity.. (notice price and lower build quality) oh and the PRICE!

this isnt a little cheap setup...

even this is not as well built but look at this price...
