I was looking at buying some Hella FF500 to replace my cracked fog lights on my 02 wrx. Has anyone had them for a long time?

I am asking becuase every other light i have had with the H3 bulb would get a light out every 4-6months. It would happen no matter how much or little I used the fog lights. I just dont want to deal with that again.

I was also looking at getting the FF1000. I am open to any sorts of advise.

Just keep in mind that 500FF lights aren't fog lights, they're driving lights.

The ff500's are the right size for the stock location. I think the ff1000's will need some modifying to fit.
The ff500's will work fine, just aim them correctly if you're planning on using them on public roads.

The FF1000s fit, they just protrude some in front of the bumper cover. Hella makes a mounting bracket specifically to put the FF1000 into an 02/03 Impreza (may also fit 99-01 Imprezas with the large fogs).

Regardless of 500FF or FF1000, you should only be using them on the open road with no other traffic oncoming or in front of you, just like your high beams.

Has anyone on here used the mounting brackets from rallylights.com? Is there any pics of what they actually look like?

You don't need brackets for 500s. You just drill one hole in the back of the foglight mounting area though the bumper cover and the backing plate that the stock fogs bolt to. You'd have to drill the exact same hole with the mounting plates, and the plates are serious overkill for the 500s. For the FF1000s, get the Hella bracket.

Yep. They're a one bolt mount. They can be mounted either from the bottom, hanging down, or for an application like this, you can rotate the mount back 90* and mount it though the back. You'll need to take the splash guards off (or at least loose at the front) to put the nut on, but it's not a big deal.

I had the kartboy mounts, but when I put my bumper back together after painting, I left them off (and sold them).
