What's up people? My name is Brandon and I am moving to Bloomington, MN next month for the summer and it would be sweet to meet some fellow enthusiasts. I drive a 2005 WRX STi. I have owned it for almost 2 years now. I am currently part of the following clubs, www.bigskysubaru.com, www.maecforum.com, www.wrxmodders.com, www.nasioc.com, and www.osecuroms.org. I have been tuning my car and other DBW WRX's and STi's for a little over a year now. I usually only tune my STi but I am always willing to lend a helping hand. My STi is stage and I have been working on the power curve for quite sometime now. I started tweaking the ACVS a bit in my tune and I have noticed a dramatic increase in power with no knock. I am still learning more about tuning everyday and someday I hope to be a dyno/street tuner by profession. My list of mods are: BPM turbo-back catless exhaust w/ divorced DP Turbo-XS FMIC rated for 500hp Stock BPV (I use to run a Turbo-XS RFL BOV and I noticed some errors in my fuel trim and learning so I swap back and my cars runs smoother now.) Open source stage2 tune that is highly modified by myself. (Over 100 revisions because I am always tweaking it to make it better.) SPT short ram intake Motorsport guage kit that came with the car when I bought it. Guages include, narrow band, volt meter, vaccuum, water temp, a small rpm guage which is pointless....sigh, boost guage, oil temp, and oild pressure. Rally armor mudflaps IXIZ hood dampeners STi pink upper strut tie bar Smoked tail-lights BBS goldies that are soon to be flat black again. Future plans include an entire rebuild with a Garrett GT40R and a APS FMIC with 800-1100cc injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump. I am also going to be doing some drive-train work with billet axels among other things.(too many to list) Now on to the pictures!!!
Welcome! Very nice ride, and there's a good amount of members that live in that area. Check out the "Events" area for our weekly meets, and the larger MNSOC events happening throught-out the year (the big one for the summer will be the LAX cruise on July 31). Go here for more info about the club itself: http://mnsubaru.com/forums/faq.php?faq=mnsocinc
Thanks bud! Yeah it will be nice to check out the scene and meet some new people. Thanks for the info!
Welcome to the site! Weekly meetup at Firestone on University in St Paul every Friday. Check for directions and info http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php/7485-
Cool man. Yeah I have a final interview with T-Mobile in Edina, MN on June 4th but I should be able to cruise to St. Paul that evening. I am located in MT now and our subie scene is intense so I am hoping for the same in MN.
Welcome "here". I think you'll find the scene to your liking. Do ya have any connections in Mn? or are we gonna be your family while you are here?
My girlfriend's family lives in Bloomington so I am moving there to be with her. But it will be nice to be welcomed by the Subaru community with open arms! We will be back and forth in MN and Chicago for the next 2.5 years while she finishes school. I am pumped to see the different modding styles people have in the community.
sick car man, and welcome to bloomington! were about in bloomington are you, i live over by normandale college just off 98th street. hope to see you around
I moved up here from Chicago a bout a year and a half ago and was welcomed with open arms by the suby group here great people just make the effort to get out to the events and meets.
lolz, lots of gauges! Welcome to MNSubaru, you'll love Minnesota in the summer! Good to see more and more owners doing some self-tuning .
I will be living by Jefferson Senior High. I will be in MN June 3rd so maybe I will have to meet up with some of you guys to get to know the community and learn my way around the city a bit more.
yeah im only about a block away from jefferson, im live on little rd.... well shoot me a pm sometime. see ya around
Welcome to the club and Bloomington, theres alot of bloomington guys here.Im only min from jefferson and im there all the time with my son,he's a sophmore there.
I work in Bloomington too. Also I have lived in Montana the past 2 summers, but I was in West Yellowstone.... Welcome!!!
Pioneer stereo...i got the same stereo too with the same background setting> nice! And yes...the guages- make it look like a cockpit! Welcome!!!
Yeah the guages are a bit over kill but they work. Lol!! I have removed some of the stickers. After every big event here in MT we sell stickers so I rep them for a season then take them off. The BSS stickers stand for B.ig S.ky S.ubaru. They admin of www.bigskysubaru.com made some stickers and I really didn't like them so I designed my own. I am actually getting ready to some exterior mods, going wingless, possibly scoop less, 18'' Advans or SSR wheels (undecided), quick release front bumper, and possibly a different color. I love the WRB but I want something different. I guess we will see when I am more settled in MN and Chicago. I do have a question though, I will be going to Chicago at the end of August and I am not going to take my STi so I am looking to store it in MN. Any recomendations? I will be coming back to MN to visit the soon to be in-laws and doing routine maintenance on the STi. I also want to keep the miles down on it. Thanks guys!!
Thanks!! Yeah I actually sold that deck and I am using a Eclipse deck because it is Zune friendly. Everybody always says the night shot looks like a cockpit of a fighter jet. Lol!!!
The guages are the only thing that I haven't changed. They came in the car when I bought it. I did swap the center pod to a ATI guage pod. Yeah self tuning just makes more sense then paying COBB or 555 tuning (Sorry if anybody likes 555. He screwed one of friends over pretty good.) It takes a lot of research and patience. I actually got a pro tune form Braden with XPT and I modified it to firt my car. I basically re-constructed the map. Timing, WG duty cycles, boost, ACVS, fuel trim, injetcor latiency and pulse width, and a few other things. I am pretty happy with how the tune is set. It hits 17-19 psi safely and runs really strong. I am still ironing it out slowly but I hardly drive my car hard because I stand out like a sore thumb in MT.
