    Hi there,
I am a proud new owner of a 2002 Blue WRX. It has 132k miles that the original owner put on. I got it for $8100 which I thought was a smkin' deal. The purpose of this car is to be a fun daily driver. The car has no engine mods besides an exhaust. Custom stuff by the previous owner is stainless catback exhaust, 17" OZ Racing/Prodrive wheels, painted sills, eibach lowering springs, prodrive headlights and debadged. No problems mechanically except it threw a CEL on my way home from Chicago.

Anyways, I have never owned a Subaru but I thought I would show some of my old cars that I have owned in the past so you know where I came from. I am 24 and have been into cars since I started driving. I typically like unique european stuff so this subaru thing is new to me.

My first project car I finished in High School. 1972 VW

    My 1985 Merkur XR4Ti

The car that the WRX replaces. 1990 Saab 900 Turbo SPG
    [IMG]

1992 BMW 325i 5sp. I paid $3700 of my own money but people acted like I was a spoiled rich kid...ummm, your pontiac sunfire costs $10k jerk! =)

My real project car. Merkur XR4Ti Sierra Cosworth Replica I still own this car and my plans are a autox and weekend cruiser. It is in progress.

I know it seems like I am a car whore (my girlfriend seems to think so) but I plan on keeping the WRX for a long time. Hopefully I will meet some of you guys in the club. And I invite you to introduce yourselves too.

Yes! I have not seen one with higher mileage either so consider myself a guinea pig. They are obviously highway miles as the previous owner was a salesman and drove ALOT all over. Oddly enough he replaced the WRX with a EVO MR.

Good news for you WRX owners though. The car feels new. There are no funky squeaks or rattles. According to the previous owner it doesn't burn oil (haven't determined it yet). There are no leaks of any kind and the drivers seat isn't worn out either. The suspension is also really tight still. The trans is still tight with no noises and the clutch is buttery smooth (and its original!!) The car hasn't had major work done either. Just timing belt, brakes and fluids. We will see!

Oh, and thanks for the compliments!

Wow, that is quite a few miles. Great price though. Welcome to the club. My sister recently bought a 2002 WRX with 6k miles on it for $18,000 I can't believe she found a 2002 with so few miles. Nice Cos replica, definatly unique.

welcome from another Saab fan! Nice SPG (though red was never my fav color for that car) - any particular reason you decided to get rid of it? or just moving on? good choice for your next car i think

Nice set of rides! Good to see that I am not the only one on here with 4+ cars. My cylinder index seems to be shifting at a rapid rate!

i'd be all over a WRX if it cost 8k. Regardless of miles, i wouldn't be happy with the 2.0 anyway, gotta throw in a 2.5L. Nice buy and nice cars! welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I might not have made it clear but I only own 3 cars right now. The red saab (which I am selling), the merkur/cossie project car, and the WRX (the new daily driver). If space, time, money, and insurance weren't factors....heh, it would get out of hand for sure.

    To answer some questions.

AWD 101, I LOVE classic 900s and it makes me sick to get rid of my SPG (it has 16" super aeros on it now too btw) but this WRX was just too hot of a deal to pass up and I can't justify having 3 cars. I actually owned an eduardian grey SPG in college that I put a bazillion miles on. That car wasn't mint but alot of fun and super reliable even at 180k miles. My brother owns a black 1985 SPG now too which he plans on hanging onto forever. (I talked him into it)
If you know someone looking for an SPG, this is the one to get, I am the second owner!

DISCOPOPE, the XR has all original cosworth bodywork (ie arches, sills, bumper, grill, lights, wing). It has modified/improved cosworth front and rear suspension, cosworth rear lsd, and some cosworth interior stuff. The motor is a 2.3T but with many engine mods including a huge NPR intercooler, ported everything, hot cam, more fuel, and plans for a discopotato actually. My goal isn't for insane horsepower but a very streetable 300whp with plenty of low end for autox. progress is slow and steady, i hope to have it running/driving end of next month.

LVT, yeah, I have been reading about the 2.5 swap. Since this is a daily driver mostly I will lightly mod the 2.0 and see how long it lasts. Then maybe a 2.5 down the road?? would be dope! btw, I love this car!
