How is it going? I recently picked up a 2012 Subaru Outback which is my first Subaru. Probably not your typical Subaru on the board but hey, it's still a Subaru! The ground clearance and AWD have been awesome so far this winter. The Outback wont see many upgrades as it is mainly a utility vehicle for us. I have my 2003 330i to keep taking my 'car fund' money. So far I have dabbled with plastidip on the front fog light surrounds and grille. I like the look compared to what it was stock. The windows are tinted and next up is to upgrade the RSB from the tiny 15mm one to a larger 08+ STI RSB. The 4th gen Outbacks seem to have an issue at highway speeds with any cross winds and the upgraded RSB should help. Also the wife got me Rally Armor mud flaps which are in the mail. Well I am looking forward to spending some time on the board and learning more about the Subaru community in MN. Here are some picture of the Outback and my e46: 330i -- 5spd, RWD, TSE3 exhaust, aFe Intake, PSS coilovers and tons of regular maintenance Winter Mode:
Welcome. Sexy beamer. I must ask, how did you manage to drive thru that much snow with that thing? Lol
My wife actually stumbled upon mnsubaru when she was looking for the rally armor mud flaps. I always enjoy local forums over the national ones. It's fun to actually meet some of the people. That was the first big snow storm we got in the becoming of December. I was out in Prior Lake and had to drive back to Woodbury in that. The BMW does surprisingly well in the snow. I have general altimax artics and the car is very well balanced it is a blast in the snow. I am out in Woodbury for now. Looking at moving somewhere less suburby in the next few years. Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
Welcome! The bimmer looks like it enjoys the snow a bit more. We are having our BMW Winter Driving School this Sat. you'd fit right in.
