well, guess i will be getting them tommorow. still looking for ideas on hwo to get this beast off.

new plan is to put in new water pump, timing belt, and hope my car runs, and doesnt leak like a siv. if it does i need a new oil pump, or i f'ed the timing, or i f'ed the crank sprocket. if it works its going to a shop on monday to get the stupid oil seal in.

this isnt going well. got the timing belt back on. looked all good. wanted to make sureit ran alright. put the crank bolt in the sprocket w/ some washers to make sure it didnt go anywhere. fired it up. ran like crap.

stop it take alook and the timing is F'ed. the two cam sprocket line up w/ time, however the crank sproket is almost a full turn ahead. i have no idea what happen. tension teh belt right and everything. so did a compression test to find TDC on cyl 1. and the crank pulley was off. so i gotta try to take that beast off again. last ting for tonight was to pul the belt and take a last look at the sprocket deal. and hose it down w/ some more wd40.

hopefully tommorow will go better. (dont think i will be making it to u-pull)

got that thing off finally. new oil pump on. (oil pump was causing my oil leak. the gasket was literally non existant) tommorow going to put it back together and try to time it right.(should work since my crank sprocket has all of its teeth now)

    hopefully it works

taking off the timing beklt is nothing, and as long as you are only doing the timing belt it isnt that bad. i have had my timing belt off an on atleast 5 times during this mess.

ITS ALIVE!!!!! finally got my car to run right. took 3 days. and one trip to BP subaru. got that cog off, new one on, and figured out how to set up timing on a subie engine.

car suns great now, except my abs is kinda wierd. also 20mm rear sway bar is in. the UR pulley is going in when i pick up some shorter belts to run ac, alt, and powersteering.

what I've done for having to go with custom belts. Take a string and wrap it around exactly the route the belt will be going. Cut it at the right length. Now measure how long that string is and buy a belt the same style but that length :)

A lot of parts d00ds wont help you and give you hell. Keep trying till you get someone willing to actually work with you and make a sale. The cool parts guys will help you out and find what you need.
