I have a 05 WRX. with about 43000 miles. i have a ERZ up pipe, ERZ down pipe, a costom exhaust, k&n short ram intake, and COBB stage 2... the other day i went to go drive to get some of the ushual CHipolte! i let my car warm up completly, when driving onto the "on ramp" to the highway i was in 3rd gear. i pounched it and between 4000-5000 rpms i heard and felt my engine bogg down, then accelarate again. my boost level was still the same, the whole time. any thougts please.. a leak? up pipe leak? ... any suggestions

Was making your way down the on-ramp the only time that it has happened, or have you seen it happen multiple times? That is, can you make it happen every time you hit WOT between 4000 and 5000 RPM in 3d gear?

You said you are running the Cobb Stage 2 map. Do you have an AP or a Tactrix cable? You need to pull a log to see what your car is doing when the problem occurs. That is the fastest way to figure out what the heck is going on.

yeah that's him nate. that's what we might have thought it would be but both him and i coulddn't come to that conclusion, because wouldn't the boost go up or down if it was that? any other suggestions for the guy.

    Other suggestions?

Off the top of my head I remember the Cobb Stage 2 maps having some weird IC between 4 and 5k. If he has a weak electrical system the Cobb map may be too aggressive, and the ecu could be trying to correct for knock. My friend Mike (W_O_T_Boy) has/had that problem and he had to reduce his boost/fuel/ignition/etc.

I still recommend pulling a log before replacing any parts. My .02.

When WallofTVs got his PDX map, he was very impressed with the power, response, etc. They do great work. That said, it was running more boost, and if RobbyRex has a problem somewhere (say electrical), that map could magnify the problem. We're guessing until he gets a log.

Maybe somebody at Firestone can help him?

Is it repeatable?? If so, go pull a log of it. That will tell you right away, and if nothing really shows up in the log i would check your afr. What kind of egt's are you running at wot?
