help. car doesnt want to idle

    hey i justed changed my plugs and now it barely wants to run. in the low rpm it wants to kill and past about 2g and it run ok. any idea on whats wrong?

    yes gappage is important. too much gap and you will blow out the spark. (most likely problem)

    they are supposed to be already gapped. and second i dont have a gauge to gap it.

    bad answers, both of them. Never trust the pre-set gap on spark plugs, and always have a gap gauge when you do it. THe gap gauge is like 99cents at Autozone. Pull them out, tap 'em, gap 'em, put them back in, start your car and let it sit for a couple minutes.

    who knows what the gap should be on the plugs for a 2.5RS?

    i had the same problem when i put my new ones on..i took all of the plug wires out and put them back on and it fixed it.. i guess one or two wernt on all the way

    found my problem! it was a vacuum leak right after my maf. i guess it popped off when i was driving it hard.

    Great! Glad you got her running again. Usually things like that happen when you work in an area with lots of things that you touch. It's also strange how no CEL got triggered in a situation like that.

    Glad you fixed it.

    I'd still get a gap guage. 99 cents at the parts counter. I buy pregaped plugs and always check them before going in. Rarely are they uniformaly gaped precisly to specifications.

    hmm.. that has happened to me before. except i had a small one pull off the cruise unit, and would idle for a bit then die on me at intersections.

    good to hear you got it up and running though!
