I found several kittens whos mother has appeared to have abandoned them. I have called all my local shelters and they do not have room to take them... If i didnt live in a APT id take them in but seeing as i do i dont have the room. Does anyone know where i could take them so they can find a good home? If i leave them out they are as good as dead because the coyotes are all over the place out here. Thanks Nick 952-334-0616
Your such an ass the reason for the thread is because if i dont find a shelter my damn girlfriend is bringing them to my house
So you're saying she's already turning into a crazy cat lady? lol, I'll ask Janet, I want another puppy but she might want another cat.
Depends on the container. 1 per Nalgene bottle. A liter of cola [/farva] has a bigger opening, so that might be a more humane form of transport.
If you're still looking, I can take them. I volunteer for Midwest Animal Rescue Services (M.A.R.S), what'll happen is I'll take them in for a couple days and bring them to the vet to make sure they are healthy, then alert a foster and either they go to a foster home or find new homes right away. I usually foster pitbulls but the house is empty right now so let me know! -Megan 651 245 7421
OOOOORRRRRR barn cats happilly eating mice and hunting in the out doors and sleeping on nice garage couch cushions
You could try this place http://www.caring-for-cats.org/. It is fairly unheard of so maybe they have space.
OOOOORRRRRR say no to incest and choose a rescue so they'll be garunteed to be spayed/neutered and don't create more little litters of abandoned kittens?
OOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR they can be brought to foster homes spayed and neutered and then put to gas chambers because nobody pays for cats anymore. Not like dogs such as pit bulls I used to foster them and it was hard with the breed to find them a home and after just keeping the 2 I had I got out of it to sad to see them go to bad homes or never get adopted so they keep moving around. If you want the cats to have a sad life send em that way if they want to be happy the can come to the barn and play and I'll through up a free kitty sign to make megan know that they wont be incesting. We all win. Free home right here.
Okkk simmer down, I was just speaking from experience and making the point that litters do end up mating with eachother and most of the barn cats m.a.r.s takes in wind up in there because of that situation, and I thought there was more than just one as it turns out. Alot of them go to nursing homes as companion animals. But hey if you think you can offer it a better home by all means take the cat, I had something come up and wouldn't be able to pick it up til tommorrow anyway. Didn't mean to get you all butthurt lol.
There is nothing wrong with barn cats, but they should be checked out, fixed, dewormed, etc... first. They also need to be socialized so some sort of foster care would be good for a while. Any animal shelter would be able to take them. They don't have too much trouble adopting out kittens since they are so "cute." It's the older ones nobody wants. I wouldn't expect any kittens to be put down unless they were seriously sick so that shouldn't be a concern.
I've got a few baseball bats and a nine iron. I love cats and all (over dogs), but we all spend a lot of money to house homeless animals for a specified time that eventually get euthanized. I don't like to pay for irresponsible owners.
