I just adopted a black kitten, 9 weeks old. He's almost due for his first exam, and I'm really not sure what to look for in a vet. It's my first real pet  Anyone know of a good place in Roseville/St. Paul??

My girlfriend knows a place around North Oaks. She said that it is really good. She took her dog to 4 different places and they weren't able to find out any problems and she went to this vet and he was able to diagnose her dog with epilepsy.

I guess the Dr. will take animals to his home and watch them and everything to be able to give an accurate diagnosis.

Yea, I went to PetSmart the other day to ask a few questions/get a few supplies and the lady at checkout was soooo rude. I just said, "I don't want any of this after all..." and left.

That sounds good enough...a great way to observe an animal thoroughly.

His adoption fee was $135, and there was only a $10 co-payment for the chip, which was included in the adoption fee. Pretty cheap.

yeah vets vary greatly in cost, you can also ask the shelter for their list, then ask for their top list. the normal list is just the places that pay to get on it, but talking with the people gets you a lot more info.
what's his name? is he neutered? you going to do declawing?

Yea, I just made a few phone calls at my lunch. His name is Baby, and yes, he's neutered. I thought about getting him declawed, but he's really not destructive. I'm gonna see if this changes though.

Aww...my kitten will charge at something, like the bed, or dresser, and just crash right into it at full speed. I think he's gonna give himself brain damage!

lol Well thanks for all the suggestions guys...I made him an appointment at Como Park Animal Hospital. Out of the 10+ phone calls I made, they seemed the best to go with. And they're only 3 miles from me!
