Hey all i have a late 1970s honda trail 70. its a 70 cc motobike. a few years ago it started to foul plugs like crazy. ie go like 1/4 mile and it would die form the plugs being black.

so far i think it is either the piston rings, or the valve seats that are bad. so last year i took the engine off the bike, and well haent gotten around to fixing anything yet.

has anyone worked on small engine like this before? i am clueless as to what i need to do from this point on. can any one offe rme some advice/help?

    thanks
    Martin

crank seals...they used a method of induction on those where the air and fuel from the carb were sucked into the crank case and when the seals go bad they foul plugs like crazy, my old kawasaki 100 did this, but it would go further then 1/4 mile! re ring it, and slap some crank seals in it, you should be good to go
