Wondering if anybody on here works for a shipping company that can help me ship out a set of wheels + tires for a good deal?

Price it out at Fed Ex if you haven't. They were literally half the price of UPS the last time I sent a wheel tire combo. Mine were large and heavy - 19x8.5 BBS. Each weighed ~50lbs. Putting two in each box worked out very well for pricing, but bundling them like Discount tire will help. the problem with a lot of wheels and tires is the weight tends to go just a tiny bit beyond their weight to size ratio and take them out of normal pricing ranges. Keeping them out of a box can save 5 lbs and possibly put them back in the affordable range.

I used to work at a UPS Store and if you ship them with NO box you will be charged an extra $12 for irregular packaging and there will be no chance of getting an insurance claim if they are damaged, but if you do put them in a box chances are you will get charged for dimensional weight which is a lot more than what you pay for what you are actually sending.

If you know some one with a FedEx or UPS account then have them print off some labels for you b/c their rates will be far less expensive than if you go into an actual store.

IMHO I would strap them to a pallet and ship them R&L freight. It will cost you less than most other ways.

I forgot to put a dollar amount in my post. Shipping my last wheels, including having Fed Ex package them for me was well under $100. I want to say it was ~$80, but could be off by a little. I think that is pretty reasonable.
