#3 looks like its being sold for a reason - swapped car, if it ran right they'd probably want to keep it, no?

#1 looks like its on an utter stealership's lot, given the ad they posted.

#2 has less miles than either of the other two .. past that, by the text anyway it seems like a stand-up guy ... but text is easy to fake like that.

    $0.02

#2 might be okay, but the car's not sitting in front of us for us to examine either. 1 and 3 are scary.

As I read it anyway... I automatically assume they're lying, though.

#2 has a reason I'd consider legit for selling it (extra cars, getting rid of the gas hog - since he mentioned buying hybrids) ... and it seems like an older gentleman by the name (walter) and the way he types, though who knows, really.

By no means am I an expert at this, though. Hopefully someone else will chime in with what they think, too.

I think they are all great. I like the last one alot. But its hard to know if there are problems with it, but could be a nice upgrade. Have someone come with you to look at the cars. I think the prices are very reasonable.

The cars aren't local, though. #1's in Lawrenceville, Georgia. #2 is Dallas, TX. #3's in Whitestone, NY.

Prices are reasonable, definetly. Will grant them that.

hmm I'd be going to NY, TX, and GA. I personally think I'm better off with 2.

Kinda scary car number 2 wants 12,600 at 45,000 obo when blue book for mine at 96,000 miles is 12,000.

Actually he's asking pretty much what the NADA value is for that car. Less miles = higher price. That he's asking roughly the same as what your car was worth with twice the miles would mean he's cutting a slight deal (generally).

BTW. NADA Guide for an 02 WRX wagon, 5 spd, ~46k miles

I'd take #2 but only after doing a carfax report. Many floods occur in the gulf coast states so the fact that its in Dallas doesn't guarantee anything.

#1 has a carfax buyback guarantee and that's a nice selling point. I'll admit that the dealership is a bit over-the-top the way it writes its ads but since they've only been around for 5 years, they need to do all they can for attention.

I would carfax both of them and go from there.

Car #3 is out. I have a personal rule about not buying a car that somebody else modded and beat on. I'm not saying that the OE cars could not have been beat on...but at least there's room for a fair argument whereas a modded car leaves no room to argue.

Me, I beat on all my cars OE or not. But my SUV's I treat like babies.

I would pass on all of them if you could find something local. inspecting / test drives are a must if you think the car has been beat on.

I wish I could find a local one, but they aren't anywhere to be found. =/ Trip to Texas won't be too bad, my half brothers dad lives there. I guess we could pay a visit.

B(i met you last nigh, black sti), go number 2, lowest miles, price is a bit more but def. stay stock....#3 looks like they did a lot of work to sell it at the price of a stock wrx(although i know it was only a ts)..the tuneis probably **** and couldn't get all the kinks out...anyways thats too good to be true..those ones are ALWAYS like that..number 1 seems kinda wishy/washy...number two seems like the beaming star of the group...I agree with martin in trying to stay local but if ya gotta go go #2

1: Definitely needs a CarFax on this one, you need to be cautious with small-dealerships that you're unfamiliar with.

2: Since you should have a CarFax, this one might be a good deal. The car I bought was modified previously, but was done by a really good guy who knew what he was doing and was really, really nice. I can still get ahold of him and he answers any questions I have. Some old guys are really cool like that.

3: DO NOT WANT!! While the drivetrain swap is exciting, I'm not seeing a tune to go with his mods. I would assume he at least has the right engine, but who knows if he has it tuned right. Most people that modify this extensively, will also call out where it was tuned. While the price is tempting, I would personally avoid this one.

hahah that swap is half arsed anyways.

It started as a TS, not a WRX, and still has the rear drum brakes from the TS is you looks closely. Whole replaced front end looks fugly, should have kept the stock hood.

What ever car I'll be getting a car fax will happen, 3 isn't even a option anymore, plus I really hate the hood. Going to Texas isn't going to bother me, my little brother wants to visit his dad anyway, so plane tickets out there won't be a waste. Hopefully it's not sold yet, the car fax is good, and no problems arise during the look see and test drive.

Yeah I remember, just four people out there. lol it's Will right?
