Hey everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. my name is Jeff and I live in Inver Grove heights. I have met some of you at firestone. I bought a black 2005 2.5RS in January. I have learned that noone makes ANYTHING for my car and it is very annoying! I want to get coilovers for my car. I am told that what is made for the WRX will fit on my car but the only issue is the weight. Anyone have any suggestions??

I am kinda locked on to tein. They said that what fits the wrx would also most likely fit the rs, but it might perform different because of the weight difference. Any truth to this?? if so how big of a difference would it be??How well does combo handle the winter?

will the wrx is a bit heavier then the rs....so you might perform a bit better cuz you have less weight on the strut/spring....about winter....to me it felt the same as comparing my ride to stock....

I am trying to decide between a coilover kit or combo... I like the idea of being able to control the ride height. Although coilover may be more spendy. Do you think the tein basic damper would be worth the money?

I wonder how much higher your car will be if you install my stock Forester XT suspension onto your RS.

a good cheap set-up would be get a set of used sti take-offs. usually you can find them used for 500-600. i'm not sure what years will fit onto your car though.

I just installed my Tein Basics...I'm impressed. I've ridden in more expensive setups...but I don't need that control, my car is 95% daily driver. I'll probably make it to one AutoX this year.

Since the Basics are a slightly softer spring, They should match well with your RS. All I know as compared to my stock strut lower spring, these Tein's are great!

Thanks for the input everyone.... after going back and forth i think i am going to do the tein basics. Sounds like the best route for what i want. Sullman, You do like the basics a lot?? I dont need anything serious because my car is also a daily driver. Thanks for the input again!
